Amiibo figures have been released for a variety of Nintendo series, including The Legend of Zelda, and every Zelda amiibo has some in-game uses, and the Legend of Zelda figures can be scanned across multiple titles. Some of the amiibo are part of a Legend of Zelda series of figures and others were released individually, but most can be used in more than one game. There are figures of Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and other popular characters and enemies.

There are a total of 25 Legend of Zelda amiibo released so far. Many of the figures come from the latest installment in the series, Breath of the Wild, so it wouldn’t be surprising if more were released with the sequel to that game. Legend of Zelda amiibo have also been released for many of the other titles in the series. There have been 13 different iterations of amiibo Link figures released covering games from the original Legend of Zelda to Breath of the Wild.

Legend of Zelda amiibo can be used in Breath of the WildHyrule WarriorsTwilight Princess HDLink’s AwakeningSkyward Sword HD, and Age of Calamity. There are also uses for Legend of Zelda amiibo outside of the series in games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or Yoshi’s Woolly World. Some amiibo are only compatible with the title they belong to, but others can be used across multiple games. Many of the amiibo will drop random items for players to collect. Breath of the Wild has some exclsive amiibo gear to obtain, making certain figures have a more substantial effect than the ones producing random resources or items.

Most Of The Legend Of Zelda Amiibo Are Link

There are 13 iterations of Link in the Legend of Zelda amiibo. Their uses range from collecting a few random items to summoning a wolf companion or unlocking a legendary Epona mount in Breath of the Wild. Some Link amiibo were released with a specific game, like the Super Smash Bros. Link. Other Link figures were created as part of the Legend of Zelda Anniversary series. In Breath of the Wild, every Link can be used for varying effects. Many of the figures will spawn random prizes, but some have specific uses. For example, Twilight Princess HD Wolf Link can be used to summon a companion.

As expected, Link has the largest number of amiibo figures in the Legend of Zelda series, and the only other character to have more than one amiibo is Zelda. Even with 13 different Link amiibo, there are some iterations of the character missing from the collection. It’s unclear whether or not other versions, such as the Minish Cap or Spirit Tracks Link, will get their own amiibo figures in the future.

Every Breath Of The Wild Champion Has An Amiibo

Each of the four champions in Breath of the Wild have amiibo figures in poses that reflect their personalities. The four champions can be used in Breath of the Wild to obtain an exclusive Divine Helm that corresponds the their Divine Beast. The helm’s ability is also specific for each champion. For example, using the helm from the Mipha amiibo increases swim speed while using the Revali helm increases cold resistance. Along with Breath of the Wild, the four champion amiibo can be used in other Nintendo titles to generate random rewards.

The four champions from Breath of the Wild are featured as playable characters in Age of Calamity. Like Breath of the Wild, a champion amiibo used in Age of Calamity will generate some character-specific items. However, these items are still somewhat random, and there’s a limit to how many amiibo rewards to be claimed. Amiibo can be used in Age of Calamity up to five times per day, so the usefulness of a champion amiibo will depend on what characters are being utilized. The Legend of Zelda champion amiibo can be purchased separately or together in a four-pack.

There A Few Different Zelda Amiibo Designs

Zelda is the only other character besides Link that currently has multiple amiibo designs. One of the more popular Legend of Zelda amiibo is Zelda and Loftwing. Rather than items or cosmetics, the Zelda and Loftwing figure can be used in Skyward Sword HD to travel between the sky and the surface without needing to find and use a Bird Statue. Adding in this small convenience made the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo popular for a while after Skyward Sword HD was released in 2021. Unlike some of the other games, Skyward Sword HD doesn’t limit the number of times an amiibo can be used each day, so fast traveling with Zelda and Loftwing is unlimited.

The other Zelda figures can also be useful, especially in games like Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity. In both the original and the sequel to Hyrule Warriors, using a Zelda amiibo will drop gear specifically for that character. Like the Link amiibo, all of the Zelda figures were released for Legend of Zelda games except for one. The Super Smash Bros. amiibo series has several Legend of Zelda figures including a design of Zelda similar to her appearance in Twilight Princess.

  • Breath of the Wild Zelda
  • Skyward Sword HD Zelda & Loftwing
  • The Wind Waker Zelda
  • Super Smash Bros. Zelda

Other Legend Of Zelda Amiibo Released

There are a few additional characters that have amiibo figures from the Breath of the Wild series and the Super Smash Bros. series. The Guardian, Bokoblin, Ganondorf, and Sheik figures can all be scanned in Breath of the Wild to receive random materials and some potentially rare items. Guardian amiibo is one of the more popular ones because it will spawn chests with some valuable ancient materials. The Super Smash Bros. amiibo can also be used for that game to create a fighter tied to the figure. Amiibo fighters can only be created with figures that are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Each of the 25 amiibo created from The Legend of Zelda has multiple purposes.

  • Breath of the Wild Guardian
  • Breath of the Wild Bokoblin
  • Super Smash Bros. Ganondorf
  • Super Smash Bros. Sheik
