Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson are two of Hollywood’s biggest stars thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but they’ve starred in multiple films together outside of the franchise. Over the last decade, Evans and Johansson became cornerstone pieces of the biggest movie franchise of all-time. Johansson beat Evans to the screen with their Marvel roles, as she debuted as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 in 2010, while Evans’ first appearance as Captain America came in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.

They immediately got to work on their first MCU team-up, with The Avengers kicking off the fan-favorite friendship between Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. After working together in that film, Johansson returned to be one of the biggest supporting characters in Evans’ second solo film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The two then teamed up again after the fall of SHIELD in Avengers: Age of Ultron and were pitted against each other for a time during Captain America: Civil War. Both then had roles in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. All in all, they appeared in six MCU movies together and made Captain America and Black Widow the closest of allies.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Starring in six movies in just seven years meant Evans and Johansson spent a lot of time together. They developed a great friendship that extends off-screen, which is why their on-screen chemistry with one another is so believable. However, a working relationship between Evans and Johansson existed long before they were sharing the screen as Marvel superheroes. They’ve starred in several movies together outside of the MCU, and there are even plans for the partnership to continue in the future.

The Perfect Score

Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson first starred in a movie together in 2004’s The Perfect Score. Evans plays the lead role of Kyle, who needs a high SAT score to get into Cornell University’s architecture program. Meanwhile, Johansson plays a girl at his school named Francesca whose father owns the building where the answers to the SATs are located. The two of them, and others, work together to devise a plan to steal the SAT answers. Although successful, the students ultimately decide not to cheat their way to college. Evans and Johansson aren’t love interests in The Perfect Score, as both of their characters get relationships elsewhere.

The Nanny Diaries

Evans and Johansson got back together for The Nanny Diaries in 2007. The comedy starred Johansson as the titular nanny, Annie Braddock, who gets the job after saving a boy from being hit by a car. Her new career allows her to cross paths with “Harvard Hottie” as he’s known by for most of the film, which is played by Evans. Over the course of the movie, Annie begins to date Hayden aka “Harvard Hottie.” This was the last time they appeared on screen together before joining the MCU, and The Nanny Diaries is the only time their characters are in a romantic relationship.

Little Shop of Horrors

Now that the MCU is behind them (well, almost in Johansson’s case), they aren’t waiting too long to work together again. It has been reported that the upcoming Little Shop of Horrors remake could reunite them. Chris Evans is confirmed to be part of the movie and will play dentist Orin Scrivello. There have also been reports that Scarlett Johansson is the top choice to play Audrey, the female lead and girlfriend of Scrivello. It has yet to be confirmed that Johansson is taking the part, but with her and Evans teaming up so many times before, his involvement could seal the deal.
