Sam Fisher is synonymous with the Splinter Cell games, but he has also made cameos in several other Ubisoft franchises. The gruff protagonist made his first appearance in 2002’s Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, which established him as a stealth operative in Fourth Echelon, a fictional branch of the U.S. National Security Agency. Fisher strongly resonated with fans, and Ubisoft made seven more Splinter Cell games centered around his adventures.

It has been a long time since Sam Fisher has been featured in a new Splinter Cell game, with the most recent being 2013’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. While Ubisoft has not made any announcements about a new Splinter Cell game since, the company hasn’t entirely forgotten about the franchise.

In the absence of a new game, Sam Fisher has been included in several other Ubisoft IPs. Some would argue this has made the wait for new Splinter Cell worse, serving as a consistent reminder of the brand’s dormancy. Regardless, here are all the non-Splinter Cell cameos Sam Fisher has made throughout the years.

Sam Fisher In Academy Of Champions: Soccer

Academy of Champions: Soccer is a 2009 Wii game developed by Ubisoft Vancouver. Its story mode centered around a magical soccer academy where players create a five-player team and compete in the academy’s league. Ubisoft included a slew of characters from its franchises, like Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed and Rayman. Sam Fisher was also included in the game – a far cry from the stealth-oriented action games he is usually a part of.

Sam Fisher In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands & Breakpoint

Sam Fisher has made two appearances in the Ghost Recon franchise, starting with a cameo in 2017’s Ghost Recon WildlandsUbisoft added Fisher into the game via the Year 2 Pass, giving players a single mission in which they work to protect Fisher as he hacks into an enemy database. For Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft released an eight-mission adventure titled Operation Checkmate in March 2020. This saw the Ghosts team up with Sam Fisher to stop a villain called the Strategist from developing mind-controlled drones.

Sam Fisher In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Splinter Cell‘s Sam Fisher was added to Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft’s tactical multiplayer shooter, in late 2020 as a playable Operator. Codenamed Zero, Fisher serves as an Attacker, using his Argus launcher to plant double-sided cameras onto breakable and reinforced structures. These cameras can be used by Fisher’s team one at a time to find out where Defenders are located, as well as to shoot a single laser that destroys enemy equipment and deals a small amount of damage to players. Fisher’s abilities are reminiscent of his capabilities as a spy from the Splinter Cell games, reimagined for the PvP matches of Rainbow Six Siege.

Sam Fisher I n Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad

Sam Fisher also made an appearance in Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, a mobile game in which teams of five participate in battles centered around gunplay. The game included a variety of Tom Clancy characters from Rainbow Six, The Division and other franchises. Ubisoft recently announced servers for Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad are being shut down at the end of 2021, meaning fans won’t get to play as the Splinter Cellcharacter in the game much longer.
