Every Room Redo In Full House & Fuller House, Ranked

Fuller House premiered in 2016 on Netflix as the spin-off to 80s and 90s hit Full House (which is still on Hulu). The original Full House set truly made the house feel like another character, and it remained an important fixture for the newer show. Fuller House has had a five-season run, and Candace Cameron Bure recently teased on Instagram that the last installment of the fifth and final season will soon appear on Netflix.

How many times have the rooms of the San Francisco home gotten a facelift? Aside from standard updates to the home’s kitchen, bathroom, and living room areas, rooms have been redone a total of 17 times throughout Full House and Fuller House. 

Three temporary changes occurred between the shows: DJ’s guest room when the home still belonged to Danny, and Jackson and Max’s separate rooms before Kimmy, Ramona, and Stephanie moved in. One more change is obvious but did not figure into storylines of Fuller House, as DJ moved into her dad’s old room and must have redecorated it. Here are the room re-dos that have taken place during the action of the two series as the Tanner, Fuller, and Gibbler families grow and change.

12 Jackson & Max’s Room (Fuller House)

This redo is last because it’s honestly weird to see DJ’s oldest and middle son live in what used to be a girls’ space. A short scene in the first episode shows DJ staying in this room as a guest right after her husband has died. Baby Tommy’s crib is set up in there during that time. When Ramona takes over what would have been Jackson’s room, Jackson moves in with Max. The boys’ new room, which was once shared by DJ and Stephanie (and later Stephanie and Michelle), just magically gets redone.

Fuller House doesn’t make too much out of the room redecorating, but it obviously happened. Jackson and Max’s room suits them, but it looks busy and cluttered with an abundance of posters, toys, and decorations. Fans have pointed out that Michelle’s pencil-themed bedroom set has somewhat lived on through Max.

11 Ramona’s Room (Fuller House)

There’s a clever moment in the second episode of Fuller House where Ramona almost gets stuck living in Nicky and Alex’s old room. She is understandably displeased with their “hobbit room,” so DJ offers her a room with a view.

Ramona’s second-floor bedroom is one of the most utilized rooms in the Tanner/Fuller house. Jesse, Joey, Jackson, and Stephanie have all called the room their own in the universe of the two shows. It’s actually a pretty cool room for a tween girl. Ramona has lots of interesting art that pops against her burgundy walls. Her closet is separated by a coveted string of sparkly beads. It’s sometimes hard to separate this room from its other, more seasoned inhabitants of the Full House years, though.

10 Tommy’s Room

Tommy’s nursery on Fuller House is very sweet. It is briefly Max’s room, but the family follows the same pattern as Full House. The older and middle children live together, and the baby has a dedicated space.

Again, it might be hard to envision this room as something besides Michelle’s first room or DJ’s special high school room from Full House.

9 DJ’s High School Room (Full House)

It’s a big deal when DJ gets her own room on Full House. It’s pretty small, as it used to be a nursery for Michelle, but DJ still has plenty of space for her comfy bed and 90s computer and desk.

The room feels light, airy, and relaxing. DJ has some great talks with Kimmy here, and it’s nice for her to have her own space while she is in high school.

8 Stephanie & Michelle’s Room (Full House)

In the sixth season’s “Designing Mothers” episode of Full House, Stephanie and Michelle get an epic room redo. They had been roomies for a while, but the room looked basically the same as it did when DJ was still Stephanie’s roommate.

Vicky Larson’s mother (played by Liz Rhodes) gives the girls a special surprise and redecorates the bedroom beautifully. Danny is not consulted, but he gets over it, and Stephanie and Michelle enjoy their perfectly pink girls’ room for the rest of the series.

7 Jesse’s Room (Full House)

Jesse’s room is one of the original redos. Young Stephanie isn’t upset to relinquish her space to live with DJ (it’s the other way around). Jesse definitely makes the spacious bedroom more manly, and he has no shortage of Elvis Presley paraphernalia.

The room morphs into something less recognizable from its first episode. However, Jesse famously keeps a special piece of Stephanie’s room by framing one of the pink bunnies of her old wallpaper.

6 Joey’s Room #2 (Full House)

What is Jesse’s becomes Joey’s in the fourth season of FullHouse. As soon as Jesse and Becky move into the attic as newlyweds, Joey gets to upgrade to Jesse’s room.

But was it really an upgrade? His basement room was much more private. Now on the second floor, Joey has to hear the three girls’ music and arguments all the time. The room also doesn’t look terribly different from Jesse’s time there.

5 Joey’s Room #1 (Full House)

While this room is originally the garage, the family surprises Joey in the first season and renovates it for him. It’s a special episode because it means that Joey no longer has to keep all of his things in the alcove off of the living room.

It never made sense that Uncle Jesse got a real room right off the bat and Joey got an alcove, anyway. Joey had a respectable tenure in his first real room and was often seen working there with Joey while the two were on their advertising jingles stint.

4 Recording Studio (Full House)

Of course, when Joey vacates real room #1, that frees up space on Full House for something else. This is great for Jesse, who can now have a built-in recording studio.

There are some great memories tied to the studio, like when Joey and Jesse accidentally get locked down there together!

3 Stephanie’s Room/Updated Nursery (Fuller House)

That former garage is reincarnated yet again when Stephanie moves back in. She makes it her own with a Bohemian style. Since she is ironically a DJ, Stephanie also takes advantage of the space she has for her instruments and equipment.

This is particularly memorable when Gia makes her first reappearance in season two so that she and Stephanie can sing in their Girl Talk band once more, this time with DJ on the drums. When Stephanie later brings home her baby, Dani Jo, her room is redone yet again to make room (although it doesn’t look like the same space we’ve seen for more than thirty years).

2 Kimmy’s Room (Fuller House)

Kimmy gets a pretty sweet deal with her room up in the attic. There are some nice blues and lavenders, and it gives her the place she needs to successfully run her business.

It definitely looks different from the Jesse and Becky days, but there’s a special moment in Fuller House‘s first season finale where Kimmy decorates it just for them to celebrate renewing their vows.

1 Jesse & Becky’s Apartment (Full House)

Jesse and Becky get married in Full House‘s fourth season, and they plan to live in Becky’s apartment. However, Jesse misses his family too much, so they look for an alternative.

The Tanners’ attic miraculously transforms into a fabulous apartment for Becky and Jesse. It is very chic and romantic, and it’s a cute place for them to start their little family. They make a small room for Nicky and Alex, too.
