Schitt’s Creek may have ended in 2020 but fans still love to talk about their favorite episodes and moments of the Emmy award-winning show. There are plenty of episodes of the sitcom that fans can’t get enough of, but what about the season finales? Which ones should be top on the rewatch list?

Schitt’s Creek has a penchant for great season finales. As the seasons have progressed, they’ve only seemed to get better, culminating in a perfect send-off for the characters of the show.

Town For Sale (8.1)

With time, the Rose family fell in love with the quirky town of Schitt’s Creek, but in season 1, they were very much against the idea of living there. That is why in the season 1 finale, “Town For Sale,” even the possibility of leaving the town has the entire Rose family extremely excited.

Alexis makes some pretty bad choices and she is presented as an extremely unlikable character in this finale and David and Stevie’s relationship hits a setback as well. This episode made fans laugh at the quirky Rose family with bad life choices, but they are not at the point of sympathizing with them, yet. Overall, this makes up for an entertaining season finale with a cliffhanger at the end. Even though it is the lowest-rated season finale on IMDb, it is still the highest-rated episode of season 1.

Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose (8.8)

In this season 4 finale, “Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose” fans see flashbacks from the old life of the Rose family and how it compares to their present. The episode depicts how the misfortune of losing all their wealth has brought the Rose family closer.

The episode starts with Johnny obsessing over trying to emulate their old lavish Christmas parties but nothing goes according to plan. By the end, he realizes that this Christmas is a lot better than those lavish parties because he is surrounded by family and friends that actually care about him. The episode portrays the family-man picture of Johnny Rose and how he is probably the one who cares the most about this family.

Grad Night (9.0)

The season 3 finale, “Grad Night”, is a great episode focusing on Alexis and her stellar character growth. From a spoiled, rich, and insensitive brat to an ambitious and empathetic high school graduate, Alexis is on the journey of self-development, and fans cannot help but be proud of her.

Alexis and Moira’s relationship also shares the spotlight as viewers witness the mother-daughter relationship prosper in this episode. On the other hand, Patrick and David go on their first date and by the end of the night, they share their first kiss. Thus, this episode also entailed the beginning of the most beautiful romantic relationship of the Canadian sitcom.

Happy Anniversary (9.1)

One of the most heartwarming episodes of Schitt’s Creek is the season 2 finale, “Happy Anniversary”. This is the first time fans get to witness the bond and love of the Rose family and learn that Alexis has a heart as she grapples with the fact that Mutt has moved on with a new girlfriend.

The episode also explored multiple relationship dynamics like Alexis and Ted, David and Stevie, and the relationship of the Roses with the Schitts. It is interesting to learn in this episode that despite all their wealth and fame, the Roses never really had real friends until they lost everything.

Life Is A Cabaret (9.2)

The Canadian sitcom shines a light on its supporting characters in the season 5 finale, “Life is a Cabaret.” The episode revolves around the stage production of “Cabaret,” and its influence on various characters’ storylines. David and Patrick plan to tell everybody about their engagement after the show while Ted is going to Galapagos Islands for his work. This represents a parallel because while David and Patrick’s relationship is flourishing, Alexis and Ted’s relationship is on the road to turmoil.

However, the central stage is taken by none other than Stevie Budd. The episode is one of the best Stevie episodes. If fans didn’t already love her, they are sure to fall in love with her after watching this episode. Fans get to have some rare insight into her personality in the episode and it’s so great to see her come out of her shell. Here, she doesn’t come across just as a side character but a major part of Schitt’s Creek.

Happy Ending (9.4)

The final episode of season 6, “Happy Ending” wasn’t just a season finale, but also the series finale. Usually, series finales end up leaving fans disappointed but this is one of those rare series finales that felt like a perfect end to a beloved show. The episode was equal parts funny and equal parts endearing and emotional.
