It’s kind of amazing to consider what the Arrowverse has done over the years. It originally began with Arrow, focusing on Oliver Queen’s exploits as Green Arrow, only to expand to cover some of DC Comics’ most notable superheroes. Going from a show grounded in realism to a universe that includes metahumans, time travel, and so much more is impressive.

The crossover episodes spanning these shows are always fun and the franchise just continues to grow. There are now seven series in the Arrowverse, with four of them having at least six seasons, one ending after four, and two others that have the potential to get there. Looking at the Arrowverse, it’s interesting to see which show within it is rated the best by the fans on IMDb.

7 Batwoman (3.4)

The lowest-rated Arrowverse series is easily Batwoman, which premiered in 2019 and is currently in its second season. It got off to a slow start, with the first eight episodes scoring between 4.8 and 5.9. Although things picked up in the back half, the show still capped out at a 6.5 rating for “Off With Her Head,” outside of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two” episode, which scored 7.5. That first season centered on Kate Kane’s time as the caped crusader and her sister connection to the top villain, Alice.

Season two didn’t help things, as the show saw a huge change. Star Ruby Rose departed, meaning someone new had to take over as Batwoman. Javicia Leslie stepped in as Ryan Wilder, giving the series an entirely new dynamic. Her first episode, “What Happened To Kate Kane?” scored the lowest in series history, 4.3, but things have seemingly improved in recent installments, with multiple scores over 6.0. Still, the show has a long way to go to catch its counterparts.

6 Black Lightning (6.1)

For a long time, it seemed like Black Lightning wasn’t officially part of the Arrowverse. The series premiered in 2017 and didn’t interact with the other shows until the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover. Though it mostly stands on its own, Black Lightning proved to be a well-received series. It was a welcome change to see a Black superhero depicted on the small screen, with the show following Jefferson Pierce and his superhuman ability to manipulate electricity.

Over time, things expanded to focus on the rest of his family as well, with his teenage children also having special powers. They joined the likes of Peter Gambi and Tobias Whale as part of a tremendous cast of supporting characters. For the most part, Black Lightning has been consistent, with the majority of the episodes scoring between 6.0 and 7.9 without going under or over those numbers. The show is currently in its fourth and final season.

5 Supergirl (6.2)

The most interesting trip to becoming part of the Arrowverse had to be that of Supergirl. Originally premiering on CBS in 2015, it didn’t seem to be part of any greater universe. Near the end of that first season, The Flash from the Arrowverse showed up, crossing networks and universes to do so, opening the door. The following year, Supergirl moved to The CW and has been connected to the rest of the shows ever since.

Supergirl sees Kryptonian Kara Zor-El as she protects National City as the titular hero. While the show certainly had its largest audience on CBS, it has scored better overall ratings on IMDb since the move to The CW. Supergirl has been pivotal in introducing key characters to the Arrowverse like her cousin Superman and Martian Manhunter. Currently, the series is wrapping up its sixth and final season.

4 DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (6.8)

There’s no question that the weirdest show in the Arrowverse is DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Debuting in 2016, it takes some characters previously introduced in the franchise and puts them together as a team that travels through time. The likes of Sara Lance, Mick Rory, Ray Palmer, and Leonard Snart were among the group put together by Rip Hunter to defend the timeline from all sorts of shenanigans.

It took the show a bit of time to get its footing but once it did, it became an absolute blast. The show constantly shifts characters in and out or introduces new versions of them, keeping things fresh. Even Constantine got revived from his old solo series and has become a highlight on the show. Episodes like “Star City 2046” (8.6), “Aruba” (8.9), “Here I Go Again” (9.0), and “Legends of To-Meow-Meow” (8.9) have all been great. The show has a ton of fun putting these wacky characters into absurd situations in different time periods. It was recently renewed for a seventh season.

3 Arrow (7.5)

The one that started it all. Arrow debuted in 2012 and, as noted, focused on Oliver Queen and his team. When it began, there was arguably no better superhero show anywhere. It was gritty, had plenty of twists and turns, and featured some great action. Season 1 ended on a high note with “Darkness on the Edge of Town” (9.1) and “Sacrifice” (9.5), while season 2 was something truly incredible. The storyline surrounding Slade Wilson led to some intense drama and the show even introduced the Birds of Prey and the Suicide Squad.

Season 3 was also praised but the show hit some bumps in the road afterward. Season 4 was a mixed bag and though season 5 was pretty great, capped by “Lian Yu” (9.7), the cliffhanger ending wasn’t delivered upon in season 6. From there, Arrow wasn’t quite as good as it once was, before coming to an end with a strong 10-episode eighth and final season.

2 The Flash (7.7)

During season 2 of Arrow, Barry Allen showed up and gained the power of super speed. That worked as a backdoor pilot to start The Flash in 2014. Since then, it has kind of become the top Arrowverse series. While Arrow set things in motion, The Flash set the stage for metahumans, interacted with Supergirl, and is often at the center of the massive crossover events.

Similar to Arrow, most fans would agree that the show’s high points are in its past. The first season had “Flash vs. Arrow” (9.3), “The Man in the Yellow Suit” (9.4), and “Fast Enough” (9.6), which are just some of the highest-rated installments. Seasons 2 and 3 also got reviewed well but starting with season 4, it had a few issues. The dynamic of Team Flash including Caitlin Snow, Iris West Allen, and Cisco Ramon is still beloved though into its seventh season.

1 Superman And Lois (7.9)

To be fair, this could drastically change soon as Superman and Lois only just recently premiered. It’s the newest show in the Arrowverse and works as a spin-off of Supergirl since that’s where Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman first appeared. As evidenced by the name, it focuses on the titular couple of the Kryptonian hero and his journalist wife. After the events of “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” Clark Kent and Lois Lane have twin sons, who are now teenagers, and they also play a huge part in the show.

Although it has been less than a full season so far, the reviews are pretty strong. The pilot scored an 8.6 and no episode has gone under the 8.0 rating so far. Again, that could change if the series dips in quality as the season goes on but for now, it holds serve as the top Arrowverse show.
