In Halo Infinite, there are 12 Skulls to find and collect as players make their way through each section of the map. Players should thoroughly explore each area to make sure they don’t miss any of these collectibles. Five of the Skulls are only available during campaign missions, which can’t be replayed in Halo Infinite. If players have already missed these, then they’ll need to start a new Halo Infinite game to collect all 12 Skulls.

The Halo series has included Skulls since Halo 2, and they work as modifiers in the game. Some are extremely useful, like offering unlimited ammunition, while others make combat harder, like the Catch Skull. Players can turn these modifiers on and off depending on what sort of challenges they’re looking for.

Each Skull in Halo Infinite is well hidden and difficult to fin d, but players who are exploring every nook and cranny should start coming across a few. The five missable Skulls are available during missions starting with the very first campaign quest in Halo Infinite. As players progress, they should see how many Skulls are in each area indicated on their map.

All Skull Locations in Halo Infinite

The map in Halo Infinite is split into sections that unlock as players complete missions and claim Forward Operating Bases. There are a few different islands that players can explore as they progress in the game. Skulls can be found in Halo Infinite‘s map legend and tracked in the menu, but players will need to do a lot of searching to collect them all. Skulls can be found in the following locations:

Campaign Mission Skulls

  • Boom Skull Mission 1: Upon reaching the narrow, two-floor room, players can head to the right and onto the moving platforms. They’ll need to get on the middle ascending block and jump onto the container to the right to find the Skull. The Boom Skull doubles the explosion radius of weapons.
  • Cowbell SkullMission 2: After going through the hallway with the window, players will enter a large room with a high ceiling. Using the Grappleshot, players can reach the Skull above them by getting on one of the pillars and turning around to face the way they came. They can then look up and grapple to the Skull location. The Cowbell Skull increases acceleration from explosions, sending objects and debris flying across the map.
  • Mythic SkullMission 11: In the large processing room, players can use the Grappleshot to get on top of the column, then go through the opening in the ceiling and head down the hallway. The Skull will be in a room by itself off that corridor. The Mythic Skull increases the health of all enemies.
  • Grunt Birthday Party SkullMission 12: During this Halo Infinite campaign mission, players will reach a room with a central terminal and a light bridge. They should activate the terminal, then use the Grappleshot to get onto the support beam and access the room on the right. They will need to follow the path to grab a Power Seed, then go back into the main room and Grappleshot across to the room on the opposite side where they can insert the Power Seed into the Crucible. This opens up an area further into the level. They will then need to reach the area with two golden rooms containing ramps and two moving platforms. They will need to enter one of the rooms to reach an identical area, then look up and Grapplshot to the opening in the ceiling. Players will see four Elites that will attack as soon as the Skull is picked up. They can kill them before or after grabbing the Skull. The Grunt Birthday Party Skull adds confetti and cheers to Grunts that die by headshot.
  • Bandana SkullMission 15: Players can only collect the Bandana Skull if they don’t destroy any Sentinels at any point in this mission. At the end of the mission, players can head through the door on the right before entering the final elevator. They can go across the light bridge and around the pillar in the middle to find the Skull. The Bandana Skull gives Halo Infinite players unlimited weapon ammunition and grenades, and it removes cooldowns for equipment.

Free-Roaming Skulls

  • IWHBYD Skull Recovery: On the first island, players can climb to the top of the Tower using the Grappleshot and support beams and ledges to reach the top. They’ll need to use the Grappleshot to get onto the top of the Tower. They can then pick up the Skull on the roof in the middle of the area. The IWHBYD Skull makes rare combat dialogue more common.
  • Blind Skull Recovery: This Skull is in between the two mountains in the southern part of the first island. It’s at the bottom of the ravine in between the mountains where a small landmass connects them. Players should go under the landmass to find the Skull hidden in the corner. The Blind Skull removes the HUD and the player’s weapon from the screen.
  • Catch Skull Excavation: To the north, there are two islands, and the southernmost of the two is home to several of Halo Infinite‘s Brutes and two Hunters. They’re guarding the Skull, which is hidden in a tree stump. The Catch Skull increases the number of grenades that enemies throw and drop.
  • Fog Skull Excavation: West of the Forward Operating Base Alpha, players can find a hexagonal pillar path along the cliffside. They can use the Grappleshot to swing up into the opening and onto a platform. Alternatively, players can use a Wasp to reach this Skull, which is in a pile of helmets. The Fog Skull disables the motion tracker radar.
  • Famine Skull Sequence: To the far-east, there’s a lone landmass that players can reach using a vehicle in Halo Infinite. On the east side of the landmass, they can find a dead golden Elite clutching the Skull. The Famine Skull halves the ammunition in enemy weapons that drop.
  • Black Eye Skull Sequence: Players can travel to the waterfall near the Forward Operating Base Kilo and go through the opening that’s halfway up the waterfall. Through the opening, the Skull will be on a short rock pillar in a red light. The Black Eye Skull will make it so shields only recharge when players use melee attacks.
  • Thunderstorm Skull Sequence: Players can travel to the northern beacon and locate the Skull on top of a pillar. It’s just below the top of the cliff, so players can jump down to reach it. The Thunderstorm Skull upgrades most enemy ranks.

Collecting every Skull in Halo Infinite gives players the opportunity to change the game and make things easier or more challenging depending on which Skulls are used. There is currently no way to replay story missions, so missable Skulls will need to be collected on a new save file. Halo Infinite players can collect and use any of the 12 unique Skulls throughout the game.
