Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Bad Boys For Life includes both Smith and Lawrence reprising their roles as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, respectively. After becoming a grandfather, Marcus informs Mike about his intention to retire, much to his partner’s dismay. At a celebration party, Mike is shot and nearly killed outside a Miami nightclub by Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio), who was sent by his mother, Isabel Aretas (Kate del Castillo), in response to the demise of the Aretas cartel and the imprisonment and death of her husband, Benito. After a series of assassinations, Mike and Marcus must team up with the task force AMMO, led by Mike’s ex-girlfriend Rita (Paola Núñez), to stop the violence and murders.
