Here’s a guide to all the TV premiere dates confirmed for 2022 so far. 2021 has been a very notable year all around, although sadly more for the worse than the better, thanks to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. If nothing else, the world of entertainment got back into (mostly) full swing in 2021, providing the masses an escape from all the turmoil. This included the grand return of the MCU after nearly two years away, both with new movies like Shang-Chi and hit Disney+ shows like Loki.

There was lots of new TV content overall in 2021, with broadcast networks, cable channels, and streaming services all unleashing a myriad of new and returning shows. The biggest hit of 2021 on the TV side was Netflix’s Squid Game, which became a cultural phenomenon in America despite being made for South Korean audiences and based on a real Korean children’s game. 2021 also saw audiences bid farewell to shows like American Gods, Lucifer, and Last Man Standing, whether they wanted to say goodbye or not.

The biggest show to set a premiere date in 2022 so far is the AMC zombie drama The Walking Dead. While The Walking Dead isn’t quite the ratings powerhouse it used to be, its 2022 return will mark the beginning of the end, kicking off the second half of season 11. This will be the final season of the original Walking Dead show, but a spinoff continuing the story of Daryl and Carol is already in the works, as is a movie starring the character of Rick Grimes. 2022 will also see the conclusion of Netflix’s Ozark with its fourth and final season. Ozark isn’t a Stranger Things-sized hit, but it’s quietly become one of the most acclaimed shows on Netflix today.

While Walking Dead and Ozark are gearing up for the end, NBC is soon to bring back Law & Order for season 21, nearly 12 years after the venerable legal drama aired its original series finale. Devotees will be happy to know that classic star Sam Waterston is set to reprise his role of district attorney Jack McCoy. Anthony Anderson will also reprise his old role of Detective Kevin Bernhard, while new additions include Burn Notice‘s Jeffrey Donovan and Hannibal‘s Hugh Dancy. Another show getting a new life is The Orville, which is jumping from Fox to Hulu for season 3, subtitled New Horizons. As can be plainly seen in the full rundown of TV premiere dates above, 2022 already has lots to look forward to on the small screen.
