Destiny 2 wraps up the “story” in week eight of Season of the Splicer. New challenges and missions are available for completion, including two new Expunge missions – Corrupted Tartarus and Delphi. Coupled with the release of Iron Banner’s return, there are plenty of activities for players to dive into to earn XP and Bright Dust.

Guardians have known for a couple of weeks now that Quria, the Taken Vex Dreaming Mind that executes Savathun’s biding, has been the catalyst for the endless night that plagues the Last City. Mithrax will work with the Guardians one final time to put an end to her influence, guiding them through the final missions. Additionally, Guardians are challenged to acquire the remaining weapon Ornaments for Null Composure.

Every Week 8 Challenge in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

A handful of weekly challenges can be completed via backlogged progress, meaning players who have been gaming throughout the season may see a few completed already. There are only seven challenges this week featuring activities in Override, Expunge, Trials of Osiris, and more. Although the story of Path of the Splicer wraps up for the season in this week’s challenges the Season of the Splicer still has a few more weeks before Season 15 starts. Players have plenty of time to complete all activities.

Before the Dawn is the first challenge, requiring players to speak with the Splicer Servitor in the H.E.L.M. and acquire the Path of the Splicer VIII quest. Additionally, Guardians will have to open 20 Corrupted Chests. At least one of which should already be opened from week seven’s Expunge mission on the Moon.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Decrypted Data +250

Vanguard Vestments adds the final weapon ornament for Null Composure, this time with a Vanguard theme. Like the Gambit and Crucible designs and their respective quests, the quest needs to be acquired by Zavala. More rewards are associated with this ornament, however.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x4 Extra Large XP
  • 150 Bright Dust
  • Unified Front (Emblem)

Primeval Patina adds another weapon ornament for Null Composure, giving it a green and black Gambit-inspired design. This challenge is first started by acquiring Null Composure from Banshee in the Tower, and then picking up the quest from The Drifter.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x4 Extra Large XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

Speedhack is as straightforward of a challenge as it gets. Players just need to complete the Override mission in 15 minutes or less. This challenge will probably be completed for anyone who already played Override this season, as it’s marked complete retroactively.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Decrypted Data +250

Crack and Decrypt III continues the task of opening Conflux Chests and decrypting Splicer Engrams at the Prismatic Recaster. Override missions provide the Conflux Chests and the Primatic Recaster can be found in the H.E.L.M. as soon as players load in. Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer’s Chroma Rush Auto Rifle is a great addition to the roster of redbar clearing weapons – be sure to grab one with a few of the “God Roll” perks.

The reward for this challenge is:

  • x2 Extra Large XP

Vexterminator is an accurate play on words – defeat a certain percentage of Vex anywhere in the system. Bonus progression for Vex defeated in Override or Expunge. Earlier Expunge missions are the best bet to complete this challenge quickly. This is another retroactively completed challenge, so it’s probably completed for most Guardians already.

The reward for this challenge is:

  • x2 Extra Large XP

Trial by Firing Squad is the final challenge, requiring players to win seven rounds in the Trials of Osiris. This is the big one – plenty of great rewards including a chance at receiving an Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x8 Extra Large XP
  • 300 Bright Dust
  • Trials of Osiris Weapon

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
