Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer enters its 9th week with plenty of time before the end of the season on Aug. 24. One week after the Guardians have defeated Quria, the Taken Vex Dreaming Mind working for Savathun, the sun shines its light upon the last city once again. To celebrate their success and the resolution of the endless night, Solstice of Heroes has returned – bringing new gear and weapons for players to either earn or purchase.

Additionally, the start of the 9th week marks the end of Iron Banner in July. It will return once more in August before the end of the season. Destiny 2’s sunset Moon weapons and Dreaming City weapons have also made their return. Lastly, players enter their 9th week of challenges.

Every Week 9 Challenge in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

This week of Season of the Splicer features only five challenges. No additional Path of the Splicer mission confirms that the Taken and Vex have had their plans foiled at this time. Moreover, this week’s challenges are relatively easy to complete. As long as Guardians don’t mind putting in some grind-time, there shouldn’t be anything stopping them from reaping the rewards of all five challenges.

Elemental Awareness is the first challenge. It’s a three-part challenge, requiring players to defeat enemies with Arc weapons, Solar weapons, and either Void or Stasis weapons. Both Void and Stasis weapons can be interchanged with one another and count towards the same progression. Bonus progress is awarded for defeating combatants in Override and Expunge, or for defeating Guardians.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x4 Extra Large XP
  • Decrypted Data +150

Eliksni Ally III sends players to Override or Expunge to increase Reputation with the Splicer Servitor in the H.E.L.M. This challenge is progressive, and those who have completed weekly challenges that award Decrypted Data may already have it completed. A total of 30 Reputation Rank is required to complete this challenge.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x2 Extra Large XP

Elemental Splicing brings players to the Vanguard playlist. They must complete strikes with each elemental subclass equipped, twice. Two Strikes for Arc, Two Strikes for Void (also this week’s elemental subclass for Pinnacle Gear), and Two Strikes for Solar or Stasis. Both Solar and Stasis subclasses count towards the same progression.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x4 Extra Large XP
  • 150 Bright Dust
  • Mantle of Duty (Shader)

Path of the Scribe takes players to the Last City: Eliksni Quarters. To access this, head to the H.E.L.M. menu and move the cursor all the way to the bottom left task. It’s labeled as a quest, but really it’s the Last City: Eliksni Quarter location. Load-in, and head straight towards the main Eliksni barracks. All nine Eliksni Scribe recordings can be found around the barracks, in front of the rusted Brig, and in the smaller gathering with tents and tech set up (on top of the buildings next to players when they load in). The game will guide players to each recording, one at a time, as they walk near them.

Rewards for this challenge are:

  • x2 Extra Large XP
  • Decrypted Data +250

Armory-Wide Calibration has players use Primary, Special, and Heavy ammo to defeat enemies. All three are individual objectives, and bonus progress is awarded against Champions.
