Announced just over a day in advance, the September 2021 Nintendo Direct presentation showed off many upcoming titles for the Switch. The latest of Nintendo’s always highly anticipated Direct conferences featured roughly 40 minutes of gameplay and trailers from games launching primarily this winter.

Nintendo Directs are semi-regular occurrences, and fans have come to expect a variety of announcements from each. The last of the branded showcases was the Nintendo Direct at E3 2021, which finally gave fans a look at the still-untitled sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Game-specific presentations followed, such as Mr. Sakurai Presents for the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter and a Pokémon Presents focused on Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but the September 2021 Direct brought a wider range of reveals.

Nintendo also showed off some new attractions for Nintendo Switch Online – collections of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games coming this October.
