SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

With seven years of long-distance relationship making it or breaking up on the screen, it’s no surprise that 90 Day Fiancé has ranked in the top of most-watched shows many times. So when it came to making spin-offs of its successful show, TLC didn’t think twice. The first-ever spin-off for the documentary series revolving around the ups and downs of life before and after getting a K-1 visa was 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? in 2016. Not only did the show re-introduce old favorites like Paola and Russ Mayfield and Danielle and Mohamed Jbali, but it also featured the controversial yet trending couples like Paul and Karine Staehle. Since then, 90 Day Fiancé has had 10 spin-offs including the popular Darcey & Stacey and The Family Chantel. But what can fans expect from the global launch of discovery+ and which 90 Day Fiancé favorites are coming back?

On 2 December, Discovery, Inc. announced the global launch of discovery+ the definitive non-fiction, real-life subscription streaming service, debuting in the U.S. on January 4, 2021. The platform, supposed to have “the largest-ever content offering” of any new streaming service along with the 90 Day Fiancé Universe coming to discovery+ with exclusive new franchises. The platform promises over 200 hours of 90 Day Fiancé content which comes with not just the fan-favorite couples and their sweet or scandalous stories, as well as “game and talk show style formats.” According to Discovery, 90 Day devotees have spent a whopping 73 billion minutes on watching the franchise so far, and the shows have been airing across 170 countries in 40 languages.

The shows that TLC will exclusively stream with discovery+ sees 90 Day Diaries which will take an “intimate look” into the lives of not just the couples who film themselves without any interference by producers or crew. This one appears to be in the style of 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantined, with the pairs “navigating the COVID-19 pandemic” albeit in a “literally” up, close and personal way. Oftentimes fans get puzzled over their favorite stars jumping from one show to another spin-off. discovery+ plans to do away with this headache by launching 90 Day Diaries with “curated mini-series is made up of every single scene a beloved couple has appeared in across each show in the 90 Day Universe.” The final verdict, fans can now follow the 90 Day Fiancé couples in their on-screen journeys “how and when they want to.”

Then there’s the highly anticipated 90 Day Bares All, hosted by Shaun Robinson that literally sees 90 Day Fiancé couples “bare” everything that would have been too risqué for TV. This, as revealed by Shaun herself to ET, will have cast members like Brittany Banks in a face-off with Yazan and his family, while also brandishing receipts. While Brittany may be wiping the “villain” tag off her name, with 90 Day Fiancé Bares All, a TLC producer who witnessed Jenny Slatten’s terrifying encounter with Sumit Singh’s in-laws will also be spilling some shocking beans. While revealing that Sumit and Jenny’s situation is “worse than shown on TV,” Shaun also confessed that the talk-show format episodes will also feature Angela Deem, Big Ed Brown, etc.

Lastly, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2 stars also come back for The Other Way Strikes Back! to give their sassy pillow talk commentary on the show’s most outrageous and cringe-worthy moments. With all this juicy 90 Day Fiancé footage and plenty more, discovery+ will be launching on 4 January, 2021, and will cost $4.99 a month with ads and $6.99 a month without ads in the US. Additionally, Verizon will be offering up to 12 months (depending on the plan) of free discovery+ access to select wireless and home internet subscribers.
