The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window sets up a potential second season, and here’s everything you need to know about the future of this TV series. Netflix continues producing a number of original content for all ages and tastes, and among its most recent and intriguing projects is The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window, a dark comedy thriller TV series created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf and starring Kristen Bell.

As the title shows, The Woman In The Window is mostly a parody of mystery psychological thriller movies (such as The Woman In The Window, also released by Netflix), and it follows Anna Whitaker (Bell), an artist recovering from a family tragedy that happened three years ago. Every day for Anna is the same: she sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. Life takes a turn when a handsome neighbor, Neil (Tom Riley), and his adorable daughter, Emma (Samsara Yett), move in across the street, and Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel until she witnesses a gruesome murder – but can she really trust her own eyes and mind?

Will The Woman in the House Season 2 Happen?

The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window was marketed as a miniseries, so it was expected to be a one-season-only story, but the final episode showed the contrary. At the time of writing, there’s no word on Netflix renewing The Woman In The House for a second season, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it went from miniseries to a full one.

The Woman In The House Season 2 Story: What Season 1’s Ending Sets Up For Anna

The Woman In The House wraps up its story quite well, even giving Anna a happier ending than expected. After pretty much every character close to Anna (and Anna herself) became a suspect in Lisa’s murder, it’s finally revealed that the killer was none other than Emma, who also killed her pregnant mother and her teacher. Anna confronts Emma after she attacks Buell (Cameron Britton) and kills Neil, and Anna stabs the child to death but not before being stabbed and shot. Anna makes a full recovery (in big part thanks to Douglas realizing he prescribed her a higher dose of medication than she needed), gets back to painting, and reconciles with Douglas (Michael Ealy), with whom she has another child. A year later, Anna flies to visit Sloane (Mary Holland) in New York and meets a mysterious woman (played by Glenn Close) on the plane. Anna later finds her dead in the bathroom of the plane, but when she returns with a steward, the body is gone, but she finds her pocket mirror in her seat, making way for another mystery.

The Woman In The House Season 2 Cast: Which Characters Could Return?

Although half the main characters in The Woman In The House are now dead, Anna can still be joined by some of the people closest to her in a second season. Now that they’re back together, Douglas will also have to return, even if he just appears briefly (pretty much like in season 1), and as Anna is on her way to New York, Sloane would also be back. Buell may or may not show up in season 2 as well, depending on whether he’s still living in the attic of Anna and Douglas’ house or not.

The Woman In The House Season 2 Release Date Prediction

If The Woman In The House is renewed for a second season, the new episodes might not arrive as soon as viewers may want. With the coronavirus pandemic still going, productions risk having to be delayed or paused at some point, so The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window season 2 could see the light in late 2023 at the earliest.
