We’ve got an exclusive batch of first look photos from upcoming horror sequel Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, featuring Burt Gummer ready for action. Over the course of five films to date, Michael Gross’ gun-crazed survivalist with a heart of gold has made it his business to take the fight to Graboids wherever they might turn up, never hesitating to put himself in harm’s way if it means the world ends up with fewer monsters residing within it.

While fans were a bit sad to learn that Syfy’s upcoming Tremors TV show won’t include Gross’ Gummer – although it will feature Kevin Bacon’s return to the franchise as Val McKee – at least his adventures are continuing in the feature film arena. The next Tremors entry – subtitled A Cold Day in Hell – is headed fans’ way later this year, and it’s set to pick up where 2015’s Tremors 5: Bloodlines, left off. Director Don Michael Paul is back at the helm, and Gummer’s new sidekick Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) is returning too.

In the batch of five first look photos included below, Tremors fans can get a good high-res look at Burt and Travis in various stages of action, as well as the new members of the supporting cast for A Cold Day in Hell. The subtitle references the location Burt and Travis have headed to this time, a remote arctic research base. This will be a new wrinkle added to the franchise, as the prior films all took place in warm, desert climates.

Conspicuous by their absence in any of the above photos are of course the Graboid monsters themselves. This makes sense though, as there’s little incentive for Universal to give away the creatures’ appearances within the film ahead of time. If fans want to see Graboids, they’ll just have to check out Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell when it debuts.

Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell doesn’t have an official release date, but the sequel is for sure coming in 2018, and star Gross previously said on social media that May was a possible target. Whenever this latest Tremors installment ends up roaring onto home video shelves, one can bet that they’ll be lots of big guns, attacking Graboids, and life or death stakes for fans to look forward to experiencing.
