50 Cent reveals his character’s military look in new set photos from The Expendables 4. 50 Cent began his career as a rapper but has transitioned over to acting more and more in the last few years, taking on primarily action-heavy roles. That hasn’t stopped his rap career, but his involvement in film projects has continued to grow. Thus far, he’s starred in the Escape Plan films alongside Sylvester Stallone, Den of Thieves with Gerard Butler and has starred in the TV shows Power and For Life.

Now, 50 Cent joins another franchise with Stallone, this time for The Expendables 4. The series stars Stallone as Barney Ross, the leader of a group of mercenaries, including Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture. The new film also adds Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, Iko Uwais, and Tony Jaa to the action franchise, which is currently filming. The Expendables kicked off in 2010 as a catch-all franchise for the biggest action stars of the 80s and 90s and continues casting new action movie actors from the modern era.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On Instagram, 50 Cent shared several photos from his work on The Expendables 4 on social media, fitting right in with the crowd. Wearing military-style fatigues, carrying an AK-47, and sitting atop a tank, 50 Cent appears ready for action in the pics. There’s not much known about his character in the film, including a name, but he looks cut from the cloth of The Expendables, assuming he’s on their side. Check out his posts below:

50 Cent is preparing to return to the Den of Thieves franchise with the sequel Den of Thieves: Pantera, which reunites him with co-star Gerard Butler. It’s unclear if he’ll be a main staple character in The Expendables franchise at this point, as no one is exceptionally safe from being killed off or simply not returning. The Expendables 3 famously hired a group of younger stars to intermingle with the older ones, which didn’t exactly work, being the lowest-grossing of the franchise and the only one to carry a PG-13 rating.

Musicians making the jump to film is nothing new, as it’s been a common practice in Hollywood. Like Lady Gaga, Will Smith, Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube, and so many more, 50 Cent is in good company with the transition. Most musicians/actors continue their music career, frequently working their music into whatever project they’re working on. Whitney Houston did precisely that for The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner, making the best-selling soundtrack album of all time. There is no word on whether or not 50 Cent will provide a song for The Expendables 4, but it seems like it would be a wasted opportunity not to have him lend his vocals and acting to the sequel.
