Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy is now on it’s nineteenth season with no signs of stopping any time soon. Every fan will have their own favorite character, or set of characters, on the show. Due to their being so many supporting characters on the show it makes sense that not every character will have interactions with each other, but it’s good to know that if the producer’s are running out of ideas, there are a plethora of characters they can choose from to guide them through another season.

An interaction between characters such as Jesus and Death would certainly be interesting, and there are some others like Meg’s friend Beth who was written out of the show very early on and deserve a second chance. In such a big town it makes it difficult for every character to cross paths or develop friendships, but there are definitely some missed opportunities.

9 Chris Griffin & Kevin Swanson

As the sons of two best friends in their own right, it would make sense that Peter’s son Chris and Joe Swanson’s son Kevin became good friends.

Even though Joe stated early on in the show that Kevin was killed in Iraq, Kevin makes appearances throughout the show including but not limited to seasons 4, 7, 11, 12, 14, and 19. Fans were also told that all Kevin’s friends were killed in action, and given that Chris has very few friends of his own, the two could have bonded.

8 Ollie & Tom Tucker

Very little is seen of Ollie throughout the show, only appearing in the background of some episodes and shouting random weather updates in a few others. Given that Tom and Ollie work together, it would make a lot of sense to see Tom Tucker and Ollie sit in the Clam and have a drink or two after reporting on Quahog’s top news stories.

Tom Tucker has had his own witty moments in the show, and it would be fun to see what Ollie and Tom got up to after they’ve had a few drinks in them.

7 Tricia Takanawa & Diane Simmons

Before Diane was revealed to be the murderer of James Woods (one of the show’s many celebrity cameos) in the classic high ranking whodunit episode ‘And Then There Were Fewer’, Diane had been working with Tricia Takanawa for many years as part of Quahog’s number one news station.

Much like Tom and Ollie, it’s intriguing to think what Diane and Tricia would have gotten up to in their spare time, or even what the two would be like with a few drinks in them.

6 Jesus & Death

Both Jesus and Death have been peppered throughout the show’s run, but neither have ever crossed paths with each other. This would seemingly be because they are obviously polar opposites in terms of their ‘job description’ but in Family Guy, essentially anything is possible.

As two of the all powerful and supernatural beings on the show, it’s not far fetched to think that the two would cross paths at one point or another. This is certainly a friendship that could provide for a lot of comedic moments.

5 Cleveland Brown Jr. & Chris Griffin

As Cleveland and his family made a return to Quahog when The Cleveland Show was axed after its fourth season, not much was seen of Cleveland Brown Jr. and Chris Griffin. Similarly to Kevin Swanson, Cleveland Brown Jr. is the  son of one of Peter’s closest friends, but yet the two hardly ever mix.

With so many character’s to deal with, it’s not surprising that Seth MacFarlane and the producers have to make some sacrifices, but hopefully Cleveland Brown Jr. and Chris share some screen time in the future.

4 Cleveland Brown Jr. & Kevin Swanson

Both Cleveland Brown Jr. and Kevin Swanson could have been great friends. Seeing Kevin put Cleveland Jr. Through an army fitness routine, or even seeing Cleveland Brown Jr. in a war zone setting in the show, would likely be a comical episode given the contrast in attitude.

Sadly the two never crossed paths so fans will never see this dynamic, but again, the show runners can always bring back old characters if they feel that there is still potential to be explored.

3 Meg Griffin & Beth

Meg has always been the brunt of may of the show’s jokes and gags. Despite being one of Meg’s best friends early on in the show, the character of Beth was written out while Meg’s other friends Patty, Esther, and Ruth stayed on and were even given their own story lines in the show on occasion.

Beth was sadly last seen in season 6 and only a handful of times before that. Again, the producers have so many characters they can use, so although viewers haven’t seen much of Meg and Beth in a long while, it’s good to know the show runners can bring her back if they need to.

2 Roberta & Meg

Much like Chris and Cleveland Brown Jr., Roberta and Meg are the daughters of two friends on the show, Lois and Donna. It’s not far fetched to see Meg and Roberta together. Even though the two are essentially polar opposites on the show, this has made for some of the best comedy in the show’s run.

There could have been episodes where the two learn valuable lessons from each other, and hopefully this is a friendship that is a possibility going forward.

1 Vinny and New Brian

As the two new dogs in town, also known as, Brian’s replacements, both New Brian and Vinny could have really hit it off.  With New Brian’s supportiveness and Vinny having connections similar to that of an Italian mob boss, the two could have certainly gone on some good adventures together.

If only New Brian hadn’t “killed himself, chopped himself up and put himself in the garbage” (in Stewie’s words), perhaps fans would have seen a bit more of New Brian’s dark side, which would have made for some great Family Guy content.
