Fans Defend Kourtney Kardashian From Body-Shaming At The Oscars

Kourtney Kardashian’s fans have her back after some disrespectful comments were made about The Kardashians star’s body at the 2022 Oscars. Amongst the many movie stars and nominees, Kourtney attended the award ceremony with her fiance Travis Barker. The Blink 182 drummer played the drums in the Oscars’ live band alongside singer Sheila E. and pianist Robert Glasper. Kourtney walked the red carpet in a black gown, as the first of her family to ever attend the prestigious ceremony. The pair later did a swift outfit change before appearing at the annual Vanity Fair after-party and once again walking the red carpet hand in hand.

While the couple looked excited to be there, fans online were very focused on Kourtney’s physical appearance. This is nothing new for the Kardashian-Jenners, whose bodies have constantly been the talk of the town for years. Knowing that the pair hope to conceive a child together soon, fans began speculating that the star may be pregnant based on how her stomach looked in her dress. Fans also criticized Kourtney for resembling her 66-year-old mother, saying she looks old. While most of the family has been criticized for getting fillers, botox, and plastic surgery, Kourtney seems to have had the least amount of cosmetic surgery, causing fans to pick apart her appearance.

Luckily for the Poosh founder, her fans are jumping to her defense. Fans created a Reddit thread in defense of the eldest Kardashian sister calling out body-shamers and their hypocritical opinions. The fan explained how upsetting it is to see people online tearing Kourtney’s appearance apart, especially when most of the critics are women who know exactly what it’s like to have the public constantly commenting on their bodies. The fan also brought light to the fact that most of the people criticizing Kourtney have also criticized the Kardashian-Jenners for getting plastic surgery and being fake. The fan wrote, “I am so tired of society and plastic, looking your age is not bad.“

The thread received over 100 replies from fans agreeing with the original post and defending the mother of three’s appearance. “People have forgotten what real bodies look like it’s so sad,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Maybe we should all stop commenting rude shit about people’s appearances, even on the Internet.” One fan seemed to think Kourtney brought the criticism on herself by constantly editing and filtering her social media photos along with her sisters. However, other fans praised the reality star stating that while they may not have been the biggest fan of her dress, they thought she looked beautiful.

Kourtney certainly does not deserve to be criticized for showing up to an award show looking like herself, but the Kardashian-Jenners can never seem to win. Whether they’re being their natural selves or being accused of photoshop and cosmetic surgery, they’re always going to upset someone. Women face too much criticism for their appearance, and as one fan said, people should stop making rude comments about other people’s appearances. It was great seeing The Kardashians star support Travis for the night and the focus should definitely shift away from her physical appearance during her next award show debut.
