In the lead up to the official Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal, Ubisoft announced the Fangs For Hire Collection; this $120 collector’s edition comes packed with a dog statue, several trinkets, and no copy of the game. A different special edition leaked earlier this week, showcasing a statue of Giancarlo Esposito’s Far Cry 6 character, Antón Castillo. As of writing, the publisher and its partners have yet to formally acknowledge this particular offer.

Originally unveiled during a summer 2020 UbiForward digital event, Far Cry 6 will take players to the fictional island of Yara, a Cuban-esque dictatorship ruled by El Presidente Antón Castillo. Ubisoft hadn’t shown much of the title before today’s gameplay-centric broadcast, despite the fact that it once boasted an early 2021 due date. The wait to fully explore all that Yara has on offer is nearly at an end, though.

Today, Ubisoft and Final Boss Bundle shared details about Far Cry 6: Fangs for Hire Collection, a $120 special edition boasting an adorable 10-inch statue of in-game companion Chorizo the dog. Fans can preorder this version of the game on Final Boss Bundle’s website, though it is worth noting the Fangs for Hire Collection will NOT ship with a copy of the new Far Cry entry. The collector’s set packages in a whole host of other goodies, however, including the following items:

  • 10-inch Chorizo Statue
  • Libertad Chorizo Dog Bandana & Tag
  • Two Embroidered Iron-On Patches
  • Chorizo Mini Metal Plate
  • Three Postcards
  • Three Lithographic Prints
  • Anton’s Flag Soft Enamel Pin
  • Yara Flag Wall Tapestry

A collector’s edition releasing without a copy of the game is a rare occurrence; yet, it’s becoming an increasingly popular practice. Many fans may recall that just this month Mass Effect Legendary Cache – the replica N7 helmet edition – didn’t come with the actual trilogy of games. Given the growth in popularity of digital releases, though, some players may find these options more appealing. (Until publishers realize digital codes are also viable for collector’s packages, of course.)

In addition to the special edition news, Ubisoft finally lifted the lid on Far Cry 6 gameplay today. To the delight of Far Cry faithful, the publisher shared release date details as well. The next Far Cry adventure is now only a few months away.

Far Cry 6 hits PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms later this year on October 7.
