Far Cry New Dawn is filled to the brim with activities. It can be easy to overlook many things while trying to complete the campaign. This guide will explain the best things to dig into after beating the game.

Any player that has completed the story in Far Cry 5 will know the event that took place. A nuclear bomb went off and flattened society throughout Hope County, Montana. The basic premise of Far Cry New Dawn takes place 17 years later with players taking control with a new generation of characters that players can fully customize. While the survivors of “The Collapse” re-establish themselves and try to reset their lives, there’s a rogue group of bandits called ‘The Highwaymen’ roaming the streets. They pride themselves in looting, killing, and decimating any settlement they can find. It’s up to the players to eliminate the Highwaymen and return peace and prosperity to the people of Montana.

The basic gameplay mechanics in Far Cry 5 are still the basic configuration within Far Cry New Dawn’s DNA. Players are still free to explore the entire map either by foot or vehicle. The nuclear destruction has completely transformed Hope County and there are now new places open to have access to while others are blocked off. Players can recruit NPC’s with the ‘guns for hire’ and ‘fangs for hire’ system. These teammates can assist players in combat, navigation, and treasure hunting. There’s a slew of firearms available in Far Cry New Dawn that offer something both new and familiar. Thus, there are ‘expeditions’ to partake in that takes players to other parts of the country for a side-mission to find new loot. There’s a new elaborate crafting system where players can customize their weapons and vehicles that gives creative players a little something to tinker with. After the completion of the story, there’s a myriad of things to still do throughout the map that can add dozens of hours of gameplay. Developer Ubisoft always provides ample opportunities to provide dozens of hours of gameplay for players and Far Cry New Dawn is no exception.

Best Things To Do After Beating Far Cry New Dawn

During the first playthrough, it is a bit daunting with everything to do on the map. Getting everything done can take a while with all the completionists out there. Even though there are some players out there that like to pick everything clean while playing the initial campaign, most players simply finish the story first then come back to find more things to do. Even though some of these extra activities may seem inconsequential at first, there’s actually always something to find and unlock. This sandbox has many treasures to dig up and the following are some of the more notable things to do after defeating the Highwaymen.

Deer Photo Challenge

  • After cleaning most of the game of its baddies, the deer photo challenge that’s unlocked early in the game after talking to Rye is still available. Completing this will unlock an achievement and it’s a good way to re-visit some memorable places throughout Hope County. Even though everything is gnarled by the nuclear blast, players with a keen eye will still be able to recognize some of these places. If players want to do something a little more tranquil aside from all the chaos, this is something to be looked into.

Liberate All Outposts

  • Clearing out all the outposts generally is like taking out two birds with one stone. To fully complete the game, liberating all the outposts from the Highwaymen is essential. Doing this will also yield the greatest amount of ethanol to collect to be able to fully upgrade the base Prosperity. Just keep in mind that the Highwaymen will try and take it back and it’s a constant  ‘tug of war’ with this feature. If they do take one back, they’ll have more hardcore equipment, and fully upgrade weaponry will be needed to reclaim it. However, if players manage to take back an outpost, it’ll reward more loot and greater amounts of ethanol.

Side-Missions and Treasure Hunts

  • There’s no question that players skipped a side-mission or two while trying to finish the campaign. Postgame is a prime time to go back and clean everything up. This will include finding all the recruits, finding all the treasures, and helping out some friends. These are a good way to find new components for weapons as well as finding notes that flesh out the overall lore of the game.

Go On Expeditions

  • Expeditions are optional side-missions that will airdrop players into new places that are scattered throughout the country. They are fairly short in duration, but they can be a bit of a challenge. If players are hankering for some stealthy action, expeditions are recommended. Thus, they are ideal for scoring some epic loot that will grant some high-caliber crafting materials. Not to mention, they can be a challenge to complete that can make any hardcore Far Cry player sweat.

Play With Friends On Co-op

  • Even if players have completed everything, there’s always the option of joining up with a friend and helping them out. Even though players can always use their ‘gun for hire’, there’s no substitute for an actual human player lending a helping hand. Players are able to drop in at any time while someone is playing a side-mission or while playing the campaign. This can provide many more hours of adventure while trying to satisfy the lust of acquiring liberation throughout Hope County.
