Fear The Walking Dead‘s sixth season finale took a dark and different twist. It was the introduction of an apocalypse within an apocalypse, in a way. Even though Teddy only managed to release one missile, it split into several warheads, heading out on several paths of literal destruction.

While it seemed almost impossible that anyone could find a way to survive, they managed thanks to strategically placed underground bunkers and other creative means. However, the ending suggests that there’s plenty to come in season 7, as those who made it must now deal with even fewer resources than they had before along with a myriad of other challenges.

It’s an interesting pivot for a show that was at risk of becoming stale. As fans anxiously await season 7  (which has been confirmed), plenty of questions remain unanswered.

10 Will The Survivors Be Exposed To Radiation?

One of the biggest issues for the survivors was finding shelter to ride out the warheads once they hit. But they were also faced with knowing that even if they did survive, what they would have to deal with in the aftermath would be unlike anything else they have encountered.

Grace knew all too well what the radiation would be like, describing it as significantly worse than even major catastrophic historical events like Chernobyl. How can the survivors possibly live in an area literally covered with radioactive material, exposing them to radiation and unbreathable air at every turn? Experts have taught the showrunners that it is indeed possible to survive in such circumstances, though it’s very unpleasant and challenging. Add that to the other challenges they have already been facing all along, like finding sources of shelter, food, and clean drinking water, not to mention fighting off the dead, and it’s sure to be a devastating scenario.

9 Will They All Be Reunited?

The final episode showed everyone divided into different groups or pairs – the cast was not seen together all in one place since they visited the submarine. Most seemingly survived, with the exception of Dakota and a number of the “bad guys.”

While there were few survivors before, there will be even fewer now. So, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for the group to make their ways back to one another eventually. However, how long will that take? And will they be the same people they once knew?

8 Where Is Alicia?

The last that fans saw of Alicia, one of the lead characters on the show, she was thrown into an underground cell by Teddy. It seemed she would be safe there from the impending missile, so it’s likely she survived. However, with no one around to bring her food or water, would she still be alive?

Did the explosion blow the door open and/or was someone else still alive down there who could save her? She was absent from the entire episode but for one implied scene that showed an explosion leading up to the door that she was likely in (though not showing anything further). So, where is she?

7 Will John Dorie Sr. Ever See Videos Of His Son?

While photographs are all but gone in the apocalypse but for a few that remain in frames or tatters in abandoned homes, Althea made many videotapes, including interviews she conducted with everyone she met. There are also the videos the group made with Morgan, which were distributed everywhere in hopes of encouraging others to help each other out.

Will John Dorie Sr. ever meet Althea and get to see the tapes and the man his son grew to become? It would be a beautiful moment if Althea had access to her tapes and played John’s for his father.

6 Who Was In The CRM Helicopter?

The voice of the passenger in the CRM helicopter sounded a lot like Althea, though Isabelle was likely present, as confirmed by the showrunners. Like several others, Althea wasn’t seen at all in the episode.

Does this mean the series will crossover to the upcoming Rick Grimes movies, or other spin-off shows like Walking Dead: World Beyond? And will the group that got on the plane, including Daniel, Sarah, and Luciana, be in the mysterious new place in the new season? Will fans eventually get to see a parallel storyline that explains where Althea was all this time?

5 What Happened To Wendell?

There wasn’t much mention of Wendell this season except in this episode when Sarah expressed her upset about not being able to find her brother and wondering if they would ever be reunited.

His whereabouts remain a mystery since the warheads were released and he was last seen at Valley Town. Wendell’s disappearance actually isn’t story-related, but because production delays due to COVID led to filming conflicting with another role the actor who plays him, Daryl Mitchell, has on the series NCIS: New Orleans. It has been confirmed that Wendell will return for season 7.

4 Have The Missiles Finished Landing?

The missiles supposedly broke off into 10 different warheads, each hitting a different spot within Texas. Have they all gone off already, or will there be shocks with a few more explosions to kick off season 7?

While several explosions were shown in the episode, the timeline also went back and forth to show viewers where each member of the group was at a different time. So, it’s possible what fans really saw was only a few of the many explosions to come, depicted from different vantage points and perspectives as each character or group of characters experienced it.

3 Did Morgan Really Cheat Death Again?

Morgan has cheated death so many times before, both on The Walking Dead and on this series. Most recently, Dakota saved him from inevitable death after Virginia left him to die. Then, he was literally kicked into a hungry group of walkers by Victor and still never even suffered a single bite.

This time, not only were Morgan and Grace above ground when an explosion hit, but they merely took cover under a huge truck or tank, seemingly only feeling a strong wind as the destruction happened around them. Will they find a way to continue to survive as they find themselves in the eye of the madness with nowhere to go (but back inside the submarine)?

2 What Will Happen To The Rest Of Teddy’s Cult Members?

If Teddy’s cult members remained in their underground bunker, it’s likely they survived the blasts. Would they come looking for their leader? Or would they realize that the missile went off and nothing happened besides the world being made worse and finally snap out of the brainwashed state they were in?

How many have survived, and will someone else emerge as a leader and attempt to set off the remaining missiles? Or is the Teddy storyline over for good?

1 Can Victor Redeem Himself?

Victor’s ride has been up and down as he seemingly fights with himself over who he truly is. While he was initially only for himself, he showed in several instances that he did, in fact, think of others. But then he would go and do something selfish once again that took him beyond redemption.

In what he thought were his final moments alive, Victor told one last lie in an effort to paint himself in a better light to the person he thought would be the last to see him alive. Interestingly, when Victor survived, he decided to come clean instead, feeling vindicated and believing that being the manipulative con man that he had been for so long is what got him as far as he had gotten. It was a fantastic speech that ranks among his best quotes. But it leads fans to wonder: which path will Victor follow going forward?
