FFXIV Endwalker: Alchemist Leveling Guide (80 to 90)

In Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, players may want to upgrade their alchemist to level 90 to increase their ability to craft with that skill. The alchemy Disciple of the Hand skill will allow players to transform materials into potions and elixirs. Alchemists can create helpful items such as potions, ethers, elixirs, stat buffs, status cures, and status inducers, which makes it a useful skill to have maxed out in FFXIV Endwalker.

In order to initially level up the alchemist skill to level 80, players will want to use manuals, which can be purchased using the old white scrips. Reaching level 80 will require 30 old white scrips, and, while they may not last longer than the 300 scrips, players will still receive the same bonus, and therefore level up much faster. Another method to gain experience points to reach alchemist level 90 is through collectibles in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker. To use this method, players must unlock the Collectible Appraiser in Radz-at-han and have completed the main scenario quest “The Jewel of Thavnair“ and the feature quest “Go West, Craftsman.” The easiest way to complete most of these requirements is using bicolore gemstones, but players can also send fighting retainers to loot them. Some crafting recipes for collectibles will require monster drops that can be difficult to acquire, and players will receive the most experience points from timed nodes.

If players choose not to level up using collectibles, levequests will also allow them to reach level 90. To unlock this method, players should continue the main scenario quests in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker until they reach Old Sharlayan. The levequest method has easier crafting recipes than the collectibles method and also will reward the player with crystals and gil. Players may want to begin with the gatherer levequests so they already have the materials required for the alchemy crafting levequests later in the game.

Additionally, players can level up their alchemist skill using Old Sharlayan quests, which can be unlocked at the city’s docks as players progress through the main scenario. The quests will task players with delivering the same items to NPCs throughout the region. Crafters are grouped for these quests, so players will not be able to use them on every crafter, and the challenge logs are reset each week.

The final method to reach level 90 in FFXIV Endwalker’s alchemy job is transformative crafting. This is a fast method but will require the player to spend a lot of money, retainers, and bicolore gemstones. To use this method, players can gain experience by transforming items they purchase with gemstones and gil to gain more experience.
