Tifa’s best build in Final Fantasy 7 Remake is going to come down to her brawling ability and her casting ability. She is a quick fighter and relies on getting her ATB meter filled as fast as possible. For Tifa, it’s all about speed and that’s her redeeming trait when it comes to combat with both her fists and magic. Keeping the meter up will give her access to abilities such as True Strike, Starshower, and Unbridled Strength that all contribute to causing Stagger on enemies to end fights quickly with her fists.

With the meter driving the fighting abilities up, on the magic side, it will allow spells getting to the enemies in quick succession but the damage will be a bit reduced than say Barret or Aerith. The damage can be more than enough as long as the spells keep coming. Having the right equipment is more important on the magic side of the coin than the fighting one as the balance is a bit harder to do for her. We’ll list both types of builds and give some understanding of how we got there to help out with some of the hardest missions.

Best Fighter Build For Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

As mentioned before, Tifa is built for speed, and here’s the setup that will take advantage of that fact.

  • Weapon: Metal Knuckles
  • Armor: Cog Bangle or Chain Bangle (Unless Tifa is wearing it)
  • Accessory: Champion’s Belt or Gotterdammerung
  • Materia: HP Up, ATB Boost, Luck Up, Prayer or ATB Stagger, Healing, Elemental with Fire/Ice/Lightning/Wind linked, Steadfast Block, or ATB Assist.
  • Summon: Ifrit

Tifa has a similar setup to Cloud on the fighting side but with a few changes. Prayer and Steadfast Block can be interchanged with ATB Assist and ATB Stagger to keep her speed theme going. a five-star ATB Boost comes in handy when the going gets tough and she needs a quick ability to either heal or finish an enemy off. The Metal Knuckles are favored here as it’s an all-out attack weapon but the Feathered Gloves can be a nice second option if wanting to change things up with a bit more magic healing from Prayer or Healing spells. She has some options which are nice and it depends on playing style to determine which way to go. If going full out speed is a bit too detrimental and dying seems to be happening too much, putting in Steadfast Block will mitigate a bit of the damage.

Best Magic Build For Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Tifa is a bit of a better magic user than Cloud but not as good as Aerith, of course, or Barret. She can come through in a pinch. Her setup will be as close to what Cloud would have but she can have the advantage of a few speed pushes due to her speedy nature.

  • Weapon: Mythril Claws
  • Armor: Chain Bangle
  • Accessory: Circlet/Platinum Earrings or Healing Carcanet
  • Materia: HP Up, MP Up, Magic Up, Healing attached to Magnify, Revival, Prayer, Fire/Ice/Lightning/Wind, MP Absorb
  • Summon: Leviathan

Here, everything is plowed into enhancing Tifa’s magic abilities as much as possible, which explains the use of the Mythril Claws and Chain Bangle to give as much as possible to her base magic abilities. With the amount of Materia at her disposal with this setup, Healing with Magnify can be used or an Elemental with Magnify if wanting to be closer to dealing damage instead of healing. MP Absorb is needed as she has no other way to gain MP unlike Cloud and Aerith do. If going the healing route, the Healing Carcanet is a nice accessory but the Circlet is best if wanting to go either the healing or the damage route.
