In the vast journey that is Final Fantasy 7 Remake, along the way Cloud will encounter a character by the name of Chadley who has missions for him involving Battle Intel Reports. These Reports ask that Cloud and his party complete certain tasks to help in the fight against Shinra. These Reports more than help in the fight, they give Cloud and his team some serious advantages in the battles against Shinra and monsters around the world.

The Battle Intel Reports might seem easy at first but they do have some that are tricky, difficult, and some are downright puzzling to complete. There are 20 in all and each one and they all have their own merits in completing. Some will reward the party with materia such as the Auto-Heal, Steal, and the powerful Bahamut Summon. We’re going to outline some strategies on how to get them done quickly and efficiently so getting all 20 done will feel less like a chore for Chadley and more fun than riding a Chocobo.

Chadley Battle Intel Reports in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Battle Intel Report 01: Monster Bio Pt. 1 – To complete this one, use the Assess ability on two different enemies. From here on, someone in the party should have the Assess Materia piece equipped at all times. Not only will it come in handy during fights, but having it on and continuously doing Assessments of enemies will go towards completing future assessments saving tons of time.

Battle Intel Report 02: Magic Elements Pt. 1 – With the Assess Materia equipped, find the vulnerabilities of the enemies and hit them with the appropriate magic ability to help in triggering their Stagger. It should be said in the top right area of the assessment what the enemies’ weaknesses are.

Battle Intel Report 03: The Stagger Effect Pt. 1 – Combined with Report 02, staggering an enemy is done by filling up the meter below their health to 100% by doing attacks of any kind. Hitting them with their weaknesses fills the bar quicker. But there’s a catch here on this Report and a great way to make it easier to finish. Using either Tifa or Barrett, fill their ATB meters to two full bars. When the enemy being targeted is almost at 100% stagger, use a potion or something that doesn’t cause damage to drain one ATB bar quickly, then hit the enemy once with a regular attack and then hit the triangle button to attack the enemy and refill the missing ATB bar. Filling the bar while the enemy is staggered is what will make this level up.

Battle Intel Report 04: The Stagger Effect Pt. 2 – This Report is best done together with Battle Intel Report 03 so get those staggers on different enemy types while playing the game normally and this Report will be a quick finish.

Battle Intel Report 05: Combat Simulation: Shiva – Shiva is ice cold, literally. She hurts with her frost spells and is a tough one to face. Bring the Ifrit Summon and the strongest Fire spells Cloud can muster to make this fight go smoother. The important piece that will get Cloud to succeed here is when Shiva is getting ready for her spells to blast her with fire and interrupt her from casting when possible. This will allow the time necessary to get great shots on her and allow Ifrit to come up in battle. When Ifrit comes, it’s time to turn on an all-out offense. Keep casting the fire spells he has and keep Cloud attacking to get the ATB bar going to keep pelting her with Ifrits’ spells. Eventually, she will go down kicking and screaming.

Battle Intel Report 06: Monster Bio Pt. 2 – If Cloud and his team have been using the Assess Materia on almost every fight, this should pop no problem.

Battle Intel Report 07: Magic Elements Pt. 2 – Again, if the Assess Materia has continuously been used, hit enemies with the weakness it’s been showing and this will trigger quickly. Combine it with the Stagger Reports to get a 2-for-1.

Battle Intel Report 08: The Manipulation Technique – Find two weak enemies and crush them with Cloud’s Triple Strike Ability.

Battle Intel Report 09: Monster Variants Pt. 1 – This Report is all about finding an enemy and finding a similar enemy to it. A great example is the Wererats and Doomrats. Both are rats but different variations. Kill two different types three times and this Report is done.

Battle Intel Report 10: Combat Simulation: Fat Chocobo – Poison is what will get Cloud through this battle. Cast it at the start of the battle and keep applying during the battle when necessary. When the extra enemies show up, take care of them first or they will start to overwhelm Cloud and make the fight much harder.

Battle Intel Report 11: Monster Bio Pt. 3 – Similar to Report 06, this requires 20 enemy types to complete.

Battle Intel Report 12: The Stagger Effect Pt. 3 – To get this Report completed, doing a simple stagger simply won’t do. Doing a stagger on a regular enemy will only take the stagger gauge to 160% so to get the 200% needed to get this Report completed, go to a boss and keep crushing them with the spell that will be the most effective against them and this will get done in no time. Using Tifa with her Unbridled Strength will boost this even more if one party member deals spell damage and she keeps up the attack.

Battle Intel Report 13: Refocus Analysis – Refocus is a Materia that becomes a part of the main Materia inventory when Aerith joins the party. Make sure to have it equipped on a character and when the Limit hits, let loose with the Refocus Limit.

Battle Intel Report 14: The Stagger Effect Pt. 4 – A continuation of the previous staggering of enemies from the other Reports. Make sure to use Assess to get those weaknesses and get it done quickly.

Battle Intel Report 15: Combat Simulation: Leviathan –  There’s no real weakness to the Leviathan so put all of the strongest attacks in the arsenal at the ready. Any magic defense is good here so having any weapon upgrades that have magic defense will be key.

Battle Intel Report 16: Monster Bio Pt. 4 –  More Assessing please and thank you. At this point, it should be second nature and this will unlock easily the more it happens.

Battle Intel Report 17: Weapon Abilities – This one is about finding all weapons possible. The more weapons, the more abilities so visit each shop possible to get those weapons and equipment for a few battles to get the abilities learned quickly.

Battle Intel Report 18: MP Consumption – This is one of the Reports that require a ton of grinding. The simplest way is to get the Pedometer from Chapter 14 and level it to get the AP Up Materia. Doing this and equipping as many magic Materia, even from the start of the game, to master 12 of them will take time but not as much with these methods.

Battle Intel Report 19: Monster Variants Pt. 2 – A repeat of Report 09 but with more enemies this time. Make sure to get the side quests completed and exploring every nook and rock to find the different varieties to finish this one-off.

Battle Intel Report 20: Combat Simulation: Bahamut – The final mission and the most brutal of the challenges. Staggering the beast will be paramount by using any big-hitting abilities that the party has. Make sure to have any Materia or equipment, such as Revival Earrings, to help in reviving or this is going to be a quick battle. Continued attacks are needed on this fight to put the aggressiveness on high and change characters if someone gets hit with a big attack to keep the pressure up. Cloud’s Counterstance ability and Tifa’s Omnistrike are great abilities to have in this fight. Good Luck!
