Final Fantasy 7 Remake offers a huge range of upgrades for weapons and Materia along the way and sometimes the choices made for them might not be the most optimal at the time, eventually needing a reset on them. There’s always room for second-guessing such as going for the Attack Power upgrade or the Magic Attack Power upgrade. These can give new life to different characters and make for either unwanted choices or simply doing something original.

Upgrades for weaponry can be reset so when making unwanted choices either when doing the initial upgrade or later on, it is a possibility. There are some steps to take before doing the reset that players should know about and how to even do them. The great thing about weapon upgrades is that they can be done as many times as the player wants so don’t hesitate to change it up a bit if only for the sake of doing it.

Weapon Upgrades in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Weapon upgrades in Final Fantasy 7 Remake are done through Skill Points received by the characters when they level up. When leveling up, points are accumulated and can be used by going to the Main Menu, selecting Upgrade Weapons, selecting the character to upgrade, and finally selecting the weapon to upgrade. Once the weapon is selected, there will be a weapon core that is specific to the weapon selected and skills to use Skill Points that upgrades the characters. At some points, with all the leveling, there will be an impasse reached where there are not enough points to select an upgrade and the choice to pick on skill or the other will occur. This is where resetting points are handy so that when a choice is made, later on, a reset can be done as well.

Resetting Weapon Upgrades in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Along the journey, in the Sector 7 Slums, there will be a character called Chadley who is one of the newer characters of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. He has a few useful functions such as giving his Battle Intel Reports to you that help in acquiring useful Materia, he has some Materia for sale, and lastly, he can reset weapon upgrades. The unfortunate thing about the reset is that it does need Gil to be done so be sure to have some with you when doing the reset. Again, as mentioned before, don’t be shy to keep resetting if need be as Gil is the only true penalty for resetting the weapon upgrades. He will also do the same with the Ability Points as well so if possible do a 2-for-1 to save the Gil.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available for Playstation 4.
