Final Fantasy 7  features a boss called the Air Buster that allows Cloud to customize its loadout before facing it. This guide will lay out what happens when each piece is removed from the Air Buster. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is one of the most anticipated games to ever exist. It plans to recreate one of the most important pieces of gaming history, the original Final Fantasy 7 released back in 1997. This game defined what it meant to be a modern RPG and changed the gaming landscape forever since it released. Releasing back on the original PlayStation, the game was packed with three discs, each with its own part. It’s a bit archaic now, but once the player was done with one part of the game, they would remove the disc and place another to pick up where they left off. The game was originally revealed back at E3 2015 and has been in development ever since. This game is also just the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 saga. This game will also be split into different titles, the total amount is currently unknown but the game ends at the ending of the Midgar section of the game. The remake plans to flesh out Midgar and its characters and bring all of its HD glory to our screens very soon. It’s been a long 5 years and the game has received high scores across the board from review websites. This guide will help players learn what altering the Air Buster boss does in combat in Final Fantasy 7.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The game remakes the classic JRPG icon and expands on its world. Areas of the game that would take a few minutes are now tripled in size. None of the new content is filler as well and fits into the game organically. In the original game, players were able to get through Midgar within 10 hours. The full first part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake is leaning on 30-40 hours to complete, building on its reestablished world and giving new story elements that make this entry feel entirely new. The Air Buster boss makes its debut in chapter 7 of Final Fantasy 7. In this chapter, Avalanche, known as the eco-terrorist group with the ideology to save the world from the evil Shinra Company who is harvesting maco, the world’s life energy, enters another reactor. Here, they plan to make it explode to prevent it from damaging the world anymore. Along the way, the player will have the option to mess with a weapon known as the “Air Buster”. The Air Buster acts as the final boss of this chapter once Cloud, Tifa, and Barrett have failed in setting up a bomb to explode the reactor. There are a few terminals in which the player is required to interact with. The player is given different options that can alter how the Air Buster fight will play out. This guide will lay out the differences between what each choice makes in chapter 7 of Final Fantasy 7.

Altering The Air Buster Boss in Final Fantasy 7

The player will come across machines that require a key card to activate during their playtime of chapter 7. These terminals give the player the option to select which module the player would like to sacrifice for the Air Buster. Players cannot sacrifice everything and will need to make a decision on what best fits their playstyle. This will alter the final fight of the chapter. There are three different parts of the Air Buster that can be altered. Here are each one and what they do.

  • AI Programming Core: These affect the Air Buster’s tactical awareness and reduces the frequency with which it fires its finger beams, an attack that stuns enemies if discarded.
  • Big Bomber Shells: This affects the number of times it will use its Big Bomber move during the battle. Discarding these makes it less frequent.
  • M Units: The number of units the Air Buster has at its disposal. This does not directly affect the Airbuster’s tactical performance, collecting the discarded items can give your party a much-needed boost in the fight. These can be collected later in the mission for special items if discarded.

It’s recommended to get rid of the Big Bomb Shells and the AI Programming, since this will limit its speed and firepower, but will leave it with potential healing materials. The Air buster fight in the game is much more cinematic and allows the player to switch between all playable characters. At the start of the fight, all the characters are separated to different regions of the map. It’s important to come along with plenty of Phoenix Downs as they can be the difference between victory or defeat. It’s also recommended to constantly switch between characters. Eventually, the Air Buster boss will fly away, making it impossible to hit in close range. Use Barrett in situations like this to maintain some form of damage while the Air Buster preps his next attack. Defeating the Air Buster boss will act as the conclusion of chapter 7 of the Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Final Fantasy 7 remake may be a game of the year contender. The remainder of the year is stacked with strong titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and the now delayed Last of Us Part 2Final Fantasy 7 remake rebuilds a world that has left such an impact on older gamers. The original title has been ported over plenty of times to modern hardware like the Nintendo Switch, offering new additions to enjoy the game including a speed-up button that allows players to quickly get through dialogue and battles. Even for players of the original, the Final Fantasy 7 remake offers plenty of new content. It is unknown what the future will be for Final Fantasy 7 will be, as the first game only covers up to Midgar. After, the game opens up to a massive open world for players to explore via airship. Final Fantasy 7 is still one of the most anticipated games of 2020 and will rival other massive hitters for the game of the year. The Air Buster boss changes are just one of the smaller changes coming along in this massive remake of a classic RPG.
