The Final Fantasy 7 remake is finally here and fans are excited to see it has met the expectation put around it. Remaking one of the world’s most important games is not a simple task, but Square Enix didn’t spare a single expense recreating the city of Midgar. The game builds on the existing mythos of the original game and adds several new story elements and a new combat system. Along with new story content, new gameplay locations to test the player’s skill also appear. This guide will help players take on the Shinra Combat Simulator and reveal its location.

Final Fantasy 7 remake not only has one tournament location but two. The first can be found inside of Wall Market. This one is required for completing the story of the game as it pits Aerith and Cloud against an onslaught of enemies. Players can also return here for Free Battle and earn some special goodies for completing challenges including upgrade Limits for certain characters. Another tournament location can be found within the game at the Shinra Combat Simulator. This one is much more challenging when compared to the first. This guide will help players locate it.

Shinra Combat Simulator Location in Final Fantasy 7

The Shinra Combat Simulator can be found in chapter 17, the chapter where the group breaks into the Shinra building to save Aerith. The simulator itself can be found on a higher floor right alongside Chadley. Here, players can participate in challenges to unlock special items similar to the location in Wall Market. This simulator was created by Dr. Hojo and is completely optional for completing the game. Players can also return here by selecting chapter 17 in chapter select after beating the game.

The Shinra Combat Simulator is a neat inclusion to Final Fantasy 7 remake. Not only does the game contain a single location for tournaments, but the game also contains two, each with its own level of challenge. The Shinra Combat Simulator is much more challenging when compared to the Wall Market tournaments. Barret is the hardest character to play as within the simulator since his challenges are built around his weaknesses like damage output in close range. The game seems to have pulled from the Kingdom Hearts series regarding Colosseum-based locations for combat. It is unfortunate that Kingdom Hearts 3 is completely missing a Colosseum, as the franchise has had one since the very beginning. Final Fantasy 7 remake has stepped forward to fill the void and many player’s hearts by having two.

Final Fantasy 7 is available now on PS4.
