The Green Beret is a fashionable and versatile headpiece that players can wear in Final Fantasy XIV. Despite being called “green,” the Green Beret is dyeable, so players can change the color of the hat however they please.

There are two primary ways of obtaining the Green Beret. The first is by completing a Level 15 sidequest in Western Thanalan. The second method is by crafting the beret by becoming the Weaver job in Final Fantasy XIV. Keep in mind that players must be Level 41 or higher to weave the beret. Players can earn the Green Beret as a reward through a quest in Final Fantasy XIV called “If I Had a Glamour.” The quest giver, Swyrgeim, can be found in Western Thanalan at X: 12.6, Y: 14.3. Her location is relatively close to The Waking Sands, so players may have passed by her a few times while completing the main storyline. Fulfilling her short and effortless quest will reward the player with the ability to use Glamour Prisms along with a Green Beret.

How to Get the Green Beret in Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV players wishing to craft the Green Beret will need to be a Level 41 Weaver. Materials for the beret, including the hat itself, can be purchased on the Market board; however, players trying to conserve Gil or trial players unable to use the Market board can obtain the necessary resources through simple means. The following crafted items are needed for the Green Beret, along with Lightning Shards x5 and Wind Shards x4.

• Undyed Woolen Cloth
• Undyed Velveteen
• Woolen Yarn

These three crafting materials in Final Fantasy XIV are derived from three primary ingredients: Cotton Bolls, Diremite Web, and Fleece. Cotton Bolls can be readily purchased from Gigima, the vendor of the Weaver’s Guild in Ul’dah. Players can acquire Diremite Web from Banemites or Mitelings in North Shroud. Their variations can also be found in Coerthas Central Highlands. Fleece comes from Downy Dunstan and Ornery Karakul in Coerthas Central Highlands. Just outside the main gate of Camp Dragonhead, players can farm two flocks of Ornery Karakul for easy Fleece.
