The Finding ‘Ohana cast is led by a handful of up-and-comers, along with some familiar faces too. The family-friendly Netflix movie takes place in Hawaii and features a storyline that parallels that 1985 classic Goonies. Filmmaker Jude Weng makes makes her directorial debut with Finding ‘Ohana, and the script was written by former Christina Strain.

Finding ‘Ohana follows siblings Pili and Ioane as they embark on a treasure hunt for Peruvian gold. They work from a journal that links to a famous sailer known as Monks, and enlist a couple of friends for the adventure. Meanwhile, Pili and Ioane’s mother Leilani looks after her ailing father, and must decide if she wants to keep the family in Hawaii or return to Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Finding ‘Ohana is full of pop culture references and will appeal to Netflix audiences who enjoy nostalgia-themed films.

The Finding ‘Ohana cast consists of two new stars – Alex Aiono and Kea Peahu – but they’ve done other work in the industry before. Furthermore, there are several newcomers in the supporting cast who will surely appear in bigger films (and TV shows) down the line.

Alex Aiono As Ioane

Alex Aiono stars as Ioane, a Brooklyn resident who spends time with family in Oahu and participates in a hidden treasure exploration. Aiono starred as Sebastian in Royal Crush. As a musician, he has appeared on the soundtracks for The Lego Batman Movie and Office Christmas Party.

Kea Peahu As Pili

Kea Peahu co-stars as Pili, a geocache enthusiast with a strong understanding of pop culture language, and who leads an expedition for Peruvian gold. Peahu makes her movie debut in Finding ‘Ohana. She previously had a small role in Bizaardvark.

Kelly Hu As Leilani

Kelly Hu portrays Leilani, Pili and Ioane’s mother who moved the family from Oahu to Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Hu portrayed the Sorceress in The Scorpion King and Yuriko Oyama aka Lady Deathstrike in X2: X-Men United. She also appeared as China White in Arrow and recently played Angela Turner in L.A.’s Finest.

Finding ‘Ohana’s Supporting Cast And Characters

Ke Huy Quan as George Phan (Above Left): Leilani’s high school friend and O‘ahu resident. Quan famously portrayed Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Data in The Goonies. Finding ‘Ohana marks his first movie role in nearly 20 years.

Ricky Garcia as Monks: The primary flashback character in the central treasure mystery. Ricky Garcia portrayed Naldo Montoya in Best Friends Whenever and Cameron in Alexa & Katie.

Chris Parnell as Brown: A flashback character who led a Hawaiian treasure expedition: A former Saturday Night Live cast member, Parnell portrayed Garth Holliday in Anchorman and Mr. Gordon in 21 Jump Street. He also voices numerous characters in American Dad!, Archer, and Family Guy.

Marc Evan Jackson as Robinson: Brown’s colleague in flashback sequences. Marc Evan Jackson portrayed Kevin Cozner in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Shawn in The Good Place. He also appeared as Principal Bentley in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Landsat Steve in Kong: Skull Island.

Branscombe Richmond as Kimo: Leilani’s father who knows the complete family history. Branscombe Richmond portrayed Keoni in Chicago Med and Jesup in The Scorpion King.

Owen Vaccaro as Casper: Pili’s close friend and travel companion. Owen Vaccaro portrays Dylan in the Daddy’s Home franchise and appeared as Young Nick in the Disney+ film Noelle.

Lindsay Watson as Hana: Ioana’s love interest who wants to attend The Juilliard School. Lindsay Watson makes her movie debut in Finding ‘Ohana.

Ryan Higa as Ryan: A ranger at Kualoa Ranch who shows interest in Hana. A popular YouTuber, Ryan Higa is the star of the channel “NigaHiga”.

Kyndra Sanchez as Yoli: Pili’s geocache teammate in New York. Kyndra Sanchez makes her movie debut in Finding ‘Ohana.

Brad Kalilimoku as Kua Kawena: Leilani’s late husband. Brad Kalilimoku appeared as Manti in Hawaii Five-0 season 8.

Mapuana Makia as Nurse Tina: Mapuana Makia has appeared in the 2015 movie Aloha and How to Get Away with Murder.
