The first minute of Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives revealing the story as picking up directly from its predecessor’s cliffhanger ending. The latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise sees Tom Holland’s Peter Parker turn to Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange for help after Mysterio outs his superhero identity to the public during the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home. In trying to utilize a spell to erase everyone’s memory, however, the two inadvertently break open the door to the multiverse and allow in supervillains from other realities involving Parker.

Holland and Cumberbatch lead the cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside returning MCU stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J.B. Smoove and Benedict Wong. The film will also notably feature the returns of prior Spider-Man villains Doctor Octopus played by Alfred Molina, Green Goblin played by Willem Dafoe, Sandman played by Thomas Haden Church, Lizard played by Rhys Ifans and Electro played by Jamie Foxx. Anticipation is building as the time draws nearer for Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s release and now fans have an exciting new look at the film.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

With just a week remaining until the film’s arrival, the first minute of Spider-Man: No Way Home has released during a recent episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers. The video sees the story picking right up from the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home in which Peter Parker was outed as the titular webslinger and must pull MJ away from a nearby crowd of people asking questions. Even prior to the first trailer dropping for the film, it was confirmed that the threequel would pick up directly from the events of its predecessor, though the first minute of Spider-Man: No Way Home does offer an exciting tease of the chaos to come from Parker’s identity being outed. Given the prior film saw the webslinger dropping off MJ right as J. Jonah Jameson returned to the screen for the surprising news, it’s interesting to see Zendaya’s character immediately wrapped up by a crowd full of questions regarding her relationship with the hero. It’s also interesting to see the quick antagonistic turn said crowd takes in the video, with one even leaping after Spider-Man as he and MJ swing away from them.

One of the more intriguing elements of the first minute of Spider-Man: No Way Home for eagle-eyed viewers is the various billboards for the Captain America musical being performed in New York City. Entitled “Rogers: The Musical,” the in-universe production was first revealed in Disney+’s latest MCU series Hawkeye, making for a nice little connection between the two titles and a potential tease of further ties to come in the film. The wait for Spider-Man: No Way Home is nearly over as the film is set to hit theaters on December 17.
