Sarah Marshall

Kristen Bell’s Sarah gives the movie its namesake. She is a television star and dumps Peter after years of their relationship being stagnant. She cites one week where Peter wears sweatpants every day as evidence of his growing apathy. She is often cheerful and pleasant.

She can be helpful like when she gifts Peter a container to keep his cereal fresh for the gargantuan bowls audiences see him eat out of. However, Sarah presents several unlikable qualities. She is duplicitous and cheats on Peter for a year without telling him. She is condescending to Peter about his Dracula musical and doesn’t take him seriously. She is rude to Aldous, and is left by both him and Peter.

Aldous Snow

Russell Brand plays Aldous Snow. Some fans say Snow gives Forgetting Sarah Marshall some of its best quotes. He is a rock star and the new boyfriend to Sarah after they develop a relationship while she is with Peter. He’s selfish and seems unbothered when Peter discovers their affair was longer than Sarah tells him.

However, Peter is mostly likable. He is kind to almost everyone he meets in Hawaii. He even warms up to Aldous after getting to know him, despite his actions helping solidify his and Sarah’s breakup. He is chivalrous and takes a beating in order to remove a nude photo of Rachel from a public bathroom for her.

Chuck / Kunu

Paul Rudd plays Chuck. Some fans say Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of Paul Rudd’s best movies. Chuck, also known as Kunu, is a supporting role. He plays a surfing instructor who helps Peter learn the sport.

Rachel is funny and charismatic, as everyone at the resort seems to be friends with her. She is adventurous and pushes Peter to challenge himself when they go cliff jumping. However, she is extremely likable and proves to be forgiving in the film’s final sequences.
