Locating Mending Machines can make the difference between life or death in Fortnite season 8. With every new season, the exact locations of staple items are typically relocated to new spot. This makes it so the season feels different enough from the last one outside of its major theme change. This time around, players will need to purchase healing items for a new Character Quest that was added to the game. Players will need to purchase them from a Mending Machine. These are vending machines that can provide players with a healing item. In order to do this, players will need a sufficient amount of Fortnite gold to make the purchase.

This challenge is a part of Big Mouth’s questline. At any point, players can head over to the Quest tab and choose Big Mouth to find their exact location on the map. Players can find him inside of the pizza place to the north of Corny Crops. Speak with him to begin his questline. Before players do this, they will need to make sure they have space on their Character Quest list. Players are only able to carry five Character Quests at a time so clear out any remainders. This is the complete list of Big Mouth’s challenges.

  • Open two chests in Steel Farm: 30K XP.
  • Search an ice machine: 30K XP.
  • Open two ammo boxes at Dirty Docks: 30K XP.
  • Buy a health item from a Mending Machine: 30K XP.
  • Search a supply drop: 30K XP.

After the player finds Big Mouth and clears out his first three challenges, they will be tasked with buying a health item from a Mending Machine. To do this, players will first need to find where they can appear. These are the locations of every Mending Machine on the map.

This map was created by fortnite.gg and reveals the location of every Mending Machine on the island. Just land in one of these locations and quickly purchase a healing item (bandages, health kit) to complete the challenge. The best place to land for this challenge will be Holly Hedges. To the west of this town, players can find a Mending Machine. Players should focus on grabbing healing items and weapons in the area before heading to the machine in case they run into enemy players.

Standing by idly when interacting with the Mending Machine can quickly get the player killed. Make sure to always pay attention to the surroundings before making the purchase. Once the transaction is done, players will earn 30,000 XP for unlocking Battle Stars and unlock the final challenge in Big Mouth’s line-up. For that challenge, players will need to search for a supply drop.
