With every new season of Fortnitecomes changes to the Battle Island, and Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is no exception. While past seasons have seen some drastic map changes like the destruction of Dusty Depot, maps being covered in snow, and a city full of skyscrapers erecting in a matter of gigabytes, Chapter 2 Season 2 adds some very interesting POIs that also introduce game-changing mechanics.

These 5 new POIs take the form of team headquarters crawling with newly added NPCs and filled to the brim with high-tier loot. In addition to the large POIs, there are a number of secret bases scattered around the map that are also home to NPCs. This guide will teach players all about the new POIs introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2.

5 New POIs in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 adds 5 new large POIs to Battle Island in the form of spy team headquarters. These POIs are The Agency, The Grotto, The Yacht, The Shark, and The Rig.

Each location is inhabited by Henchmen which are armed NPCs that are native to that location. They will not leave the location and will continue to patrol the POI until they are eliminated. As well, each POI has its own unique boss which is equipped with a unique Mythic weapon and vault keycard.

As well as NPCs, the new locations all have a vault that can only be opened with a keycard. These vaults are filled with tons of high-tier loot, and the vaults cannot be found anywhere outside of these POIs.

The new locations are also filled with security cameras and turrets. Turrets are usually located near the vaults entrances, and security cameras can be found at the main entryways of the POIs. Turrets will shoot players with 100% accuracy if they come into the turret’s line of sight, and security cameras will alert Henchmen and players to your location if spotted.

The new POIs put a heavy emphasis on stealth as it is wiser for players to sneak around these locations than it is for them to go in guns blazing. Luckily, the POIs are built in such a way that players can easily sneak around them much like a level in Hitman or Metal Gear Solid.

The Agency in Fortnite

The Agency is definitely one of the largest and most heavily populated POIs introduced in Fortnite Season 2, and that can be contributed to the fact that it is located in the center of Battle Island. It is a six-story tall headquarters for Team Ghost that is densely populated with Henchmen and has various nooks and crannies for players to sneak around in.

Although the campus for The Agency is fairly large, it is pretty simple to navigate. The vault is located by walking down the corridor on the left-hand side of the building when players walk through the front entrance. Midas, who is the resident boss of The Agency, can usually be found roaming the third floor of the facility. There is a basement of winding air-ducts that players can crawl through on the right side of the building, but this area can be avoided altogether due to the lack of loot.

A telephone booth where players can disguise themselves as henchmen can be found at the back right of The Agency down some stairs. There is also a dumpster located on the left side of the building that once entered teleports the player to the inside of the facility.

The Grotto in Fortnite

The Grotto is an interesting location as the majority of the location is found underground. It is located on the east side of Battle Island directly south of Dirty Docks. Again, it is heavily populated with Henchmen, but The Grotto can be a little bit more difficult to navigate.

Entering The Grotto can be done one of three ways. The first is by walking down the driveway into a garage north of The Grotto. This may be a bit challenging as the garage not only has henchmen in it but turrets as well, both of which do not offer warm welcomes.

The second is through a wind tunnel fixed on a hill to the west of The Grotto. This is fairly easy as all a player needs to do is dive into the wind tunnel and make their way to the entrance at the bottom. Along the wall of the tunnel, there is also a separate room halfway down that has a chest. The tunnel will lead players into the bottom level of The Grotto near the vault

The third and fastest way to enter the vault is by jumping down into the belly of The Grotto through a large gaping hole seen on the map. In the center there is a helicopter pad that will kill a player from fall damage if landed on, so be careful to jump to the side into the water. This location is also filled with henchmen and a turret but there is plenty of cover and floor loot to help with those problems. As well, there is a port-a-potty that once entered will teleport a player further inside the Grotto.

The Grotto is home to Brutus who wields a very powerful mini-gun. Brutus is usually found roaming around near the vault. Players can easily eliminate Brutus and then open the vault. Exiting back through the wind tunnel is the best way for players to leaver The Grotto as it allows them to glide away from the location.

The Yacht in Fortnite

The Yacht is one of the smallest new POIs in Fornite Chapter 2 Season 2 as it is exactly what it says it is… a yacht. This big boat is located in the top right corner of the map which makes it one of the least visited POIs in the game, but regardless it is still filled with henchmen, loot, and Meowscles the body-building cat.

The best way to enter the boat and get to the vault quickly is by landing on the balcony at the front of the boat. From here a player can walk through the windows into the boats helm or cockpit where there should be floor loot. A player can then enter through the door in the helm to access the main part of the boat.

Along the balcony inside the boat, there is more loot for players to pick up however, this room also contains multiple henchmen and Meowscles himself. After eliminating Meowscles and his goons the player can make their way to between the two stairs leading up to the back of the boat and can mine straight through the floor. This will lead players directly to the room that the vault is in.

Once inside the vault a player can enter the port-a-potty to be teleported away from the boat back to land for a quick getaway or to escape the storm. The boat itself is covered in loot both from chest and floor loot, however it is so far removed from Battle Island it can prove a challenge for players to stay on The Yacht for long.

The Shark in Fortnite

The Shark is arguably the most uninteresting new POIs in season 2 and is located directly north of Sweaty Sands. At first glance, a giant stone shark may seem interesting, however, the building itself is not too complex or unique. It is easily navigated, and entering is pretty straightforward, but all in all, it is the weakest of the five new POIs.

When landing on The Shark all a player needs to do is land on the roof of the building. There is plenty of loot on the roof, and hoping inside the facility from the roof leads player straight to The Shark’s boss, Skye. She can actually be shot from the roof since the roof looks straight into the second floor where Skye can be found roaming around.

Once eliminated, grab Skye’s card and hop down next to the tree with yellow leaves. Mine the floor and you will land in the lower levels of The Shark right next to the vault. Be wary as there are turrets guarding the vault that can be easily avoided by ducking into the rooms on either side of the vault.

Again, there is a port-a-potty inside the vault that will teleport players inland away from the storm. The port-a-potty leads to a small island with a shack that may also have loot, but more importantly, has a boat that players can drive to further escape the storm.

The Rig in Fortnite

The Rig is, obviously, a giant oil rig located west of Slurpy Swamp. While it is one of the more conceptually interesting POIs added this season, its layout can confuse players who do not land there normally.

The Rig is fairly large in size and is heavily populated by henchmen, but is also home to the eagle-eyed bow-woman TNTina. She is armed with her mythic Boom Bow which is a bow and arrow that shoots explosive rounds that explode on impact. This makes traversing the open terrain of The Rig a bit more dangerous than navigating other POIs.

TNTina can normally be found near the northwest portion of the rig on the balcony of the building labeled “3”. This building is doubly dangerous as it is protected by two turrets located out front. Once a player has eliminated TNTina and collected her card it is time to navigate their way to the vault.

From the “3” building walk back towards the rig and go behind the spherical container labeled “Spillexx” and mine straight down. Once you’ve broken through the floor walk all the way down the steps until you find yourself outside of the vault. Once inside loot up and use the port-a-potty to teleport inland near Slurpy Swamp.

And those are the five new POIs introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2.
