During this final week of Epic and Legendary Quests for FortniteSeason 6, players will be interacting with many of the mechanics especially made for the season, including the interactions with Wildlife around the island. For 12 weeks, the Fortnite island has gone Primal, overrun with tamable creatures from Chickens and Boars to Raptors. Most of these animals have specific spawn points around the map. During Week 12 of Fortnite Season 6, one Epic Quest tasks players with Chicken Gliding at Colossal Crops. Though the name of this activity may not be familiar, players actually already participated in this as part of a similar challenge during Week 3 this season. Chicken Gliding requires players to catch and use a Chicken as a glider.

Chicken Gliding in Fortnite is a little easier said than done, however, specifically because Chickens can be skittish. As the player approaches, there is a chance the Chickens will try to flee. It may be beneficial for players to sneak up on or otherwise corner a Chicken to get a chance to grab one and take flight. Here’s how to complete the Chicken Glide at Colossal Crops Week 12 Epic Quest in Fortnite Season 6.

How to Use a Chicken as a Glider in Fortnite

Before players can Chicken Glide in Fortnite, they will need to find and grab a Chicken. The easiest place to find one will be Colossal Crops, which makes this Week 12 Epic Quest that much easier to complete. Colossal Crops is a new location in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 located east of The Spire, near Steel Farms and the Orchard. Steel Farms is likely the easiest place to find and catch a Chicken, so players should go there first.

To catch a Chicken, players can either sneak up on it, especially if they have crafted a Hunter’s Cloak, or run right up to it. The former is less likely to frighten the Chicken and cause it to flee or wander away. If players are confident in their ability or have a way to corner the Chicken, running up to it can be a viable option too. Either way, they will need to use the button prompt to Grab the Chicken.

Once they are holding the creature, all they need to do is run and jump. They will glide for a few feet as the Chicken flaps its wings. As long as they are still within the area encompassing the Colossal Crops POI, the challenge should register as complete. Players will receive 24,000 XP toward their Season 6 Battle Pass for completing this challenge.

Some players have reported the Chicken Glide at Colossal Crops Week 12 Epic Quest as being bugged. No matter where they glide with their feathered friend at the Colossal Crops POI, they cannot get the quest to complete. Epic Games is aware of the issue, and it only seems to be affecting a small number of players. For best results when trying to complete this Fortnite Week 12 Quest, players should take their Chicken to the central farm at Colossal Crops and try gliding there.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android devices.
