In a Fortnite season dedicated to hunters, there may not be a character that even comes close to Predator’s tracking skills. First appearing in the 1987 film Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers, this Sci/Fi alien hunter has gone on to hunt in four feature films with a fifth one on the way. This extraterrestrial hunter has made its way into a handful of video games and crossover films. Most recently, he can be found dropping into Fortnite.

Each new character in Fornite comes with a unique set of challenges. For example, Black Panther’s appearance allowed players to unlock the Wakanda Salute emote, and The Mandalorian had players seeking out the crashed Razor Crest. The predator will have players using his iconic thermal vision to deal damage to their enemies. If only they had its shoulder-mounted as well. This guide will explain how players can complete Predator’s Jungle Hunter quest in Fortnite.

Fortnite – How to Deal Thermal Damage (Jungle Hunter quest)

Before players can begin thinking about completing the Jungle Hunter quest, they’ll need to unlock the Predator skin. To do this, players must head to Stealthy Stronghold and hunt down the alien themselves. Defeating Predator will unlock its skin. It’ll also drop its iconic cloaking device. Killing Predator is no easy task. It has a massive pool of health and shield and can turn invisible at the drop of a dime. It’ll most likely find players before they find it.

Once players have unlocked the Predator skins, they can now begin working towards the Jungle Hunter quest. The next leg will require them to deal 100 Thermal damage to enemy players while playing as Predator. Unfortunately, the Predator skin does not come with built-in Thermal optics, which would be incredibly unfair.

To deal thermal damage, players will have to find and consume a legendary Thermal Fish. They can be caught at most fishing holes on the map but will require a little luck to find. There a few different variants of the Thermal Fish.

  • Orange, Purple, and Silver – Can be found in any Fishing Area.
  • Raven – Coastal Fishing Areas (must use a Pro-Rod)
  • Green & Red and Green – Forest Fishing Areas

Once players have found one, they can east to gain 30 – 60 seconds of thermal vision. Players are advised to hang on to the Thermal Fish until they can third-party an ongoing fight. While playing squads, players can wrack up easy thermal damage by shooting downed enemies. Landing an accurate sniper headshot will complete the challenge in true Predator fashion.

Fortnite continues to break down gaming barriers when it comes to expansions and special appearances. Epic Games has blended characters from all walks of gaming into the most popular battle royal of all time. Players are eager to see what the future holds for Fortnite and how they can top Predator in the hunter food chain.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mobile, Nintendo Switch & Last Gen
