Fortnite: How to Find Carnage & Venom Symbiote Locations

Epic Games’ free-to-play Fortnite is a widely popular game that receives consistent updates. Fortnite has various gameplay options that players can enjoy, from fighting to be the last character in Battle Royale to fending off hordes of monsters in Save the World mode. With each new update to the game, players can expect new experiences and items.

Unique weapons, features, and skins are continuously added for players to utilize. With each new season, Fortnite releases content that keeps the game consistently fresh to maximize its replayability. Season 8’s release has brought new mythic weapons to Fortnite based on Venom and Carnage, two characters from the Marvel Universe.

The Venom and Carnage Symbiotes are found in canisters and appear randomly on the map. Similar to other Fortnite mythic weapons, the two Symbiotes can be difficult to find, but there are a few methods players can use to grab them. The Symbiotes grant players powerful special abilities making them highly sought after in the new season. For players concerned with the strength of the new weapons, there is a cooldown period to ensure that no one is too overpowered, and both Symbiotes have the same abilities.

Venom & Carnage Symbiote Locations in Fortnite

The canisters for the Carnage and Venom Symbiotes won’t appear at the start of the match. These mythic weapons will only spawn a minute or more into the game after the first storm circle appears. In order to easily grab the first canister that appears, players can hover in the air after exiting Fortnite‘s Battle Bus. Wait for the first storm circle, then look for the Symbiote icons on the map, and head towards the closest one (there will only be a few that spawn). The Symbiotes will appear as spider-like symbols on the map. Interact with the canister to obtain the mythic weapon and begin using it.

Although the spawns are random, the canisters seem to appear more in the fields northwest of Corny Crops and southeast of Boney Burbs. However, the best way to find them is to start in the middle of the map rather than veering to one side and being unable to reach one when it appears. Once players have a Symbiote, they will be able to grab enemies and pull them in dealing 60 damage, but there is a 10-second cooldown between each attack. The Symbiotes also grant increased speed and glider re-deploy.

After the Symbiotes are picked up, they do not respawn for that match. The only other way to get one is to take out a player that already has it. Only one Symbiote can be held at a time, but both Carnage and Venom have the same abilities. The only difference is that Carnage gives players a red glow, and Venom has a purple aura. The addition of these mythic weapons in Fortnite comes with several other updates in the Season 8 release.
