By now, players are likely to have noticed the giant Spire landmark that replaced Zero Point in FortniteChapter 2, Season 6 and have probably noticed the smaller Spires around the outskirts of the map as well. Each of the smaller spires is patrolled by a Spire Guardian, a hostile NPC boss. The large Spire also has a Guardian, the Spire Assassin, who serves as Season 6’s first Mythic boss. While players can get the Mythic Spire Jump Boots from defeating the smaller Spire Guardian Bosses, defeating Spire Assassin earns players the only other Mythic weapon currently available in-game, the Spire Assassin’s Primal Shotgun.

Spire Assassin is even tougher to beat than her fellow Spire Guardians, and she has a large wander area. Players may stumble upon her by accident, and, while she is often found on or around The Spire in the center of the map or the island north of Misty Meadows, she can be found in other locations removed from The Spire too. Like the other Spire Guardians, she can teleport, and she will zero in on a player if they manage to get close. Here’s how to defeat the Spire Assassin and claim her Mythic Primal Shotgun in Fortnite.

Possible Spawn Locations for Spire Assassin in Fortnite

It is not always possible to predict where Spire Assassin will spawn on the Fortnite map during a match. Players have reported finding her patrolling the second level of The Spire, the base of The Spire, and the island on Lazy Lake north of Misty Meadows. She has a wide wander radius, so she can be difficult to find.

One way to get her attention might be to land directly onto The Spire from the Battle Bus. While this is not a guaranteed way to get her to spawn, it does tend to grab her attention if she appears nearby. Players will just need to make sure they grab weapons and gear as soon as they can and kite away from Spire Assassin once she spots them. They will also need to be careful of other players, as The Spire is likely to be a popular landing zone for Season 6.

How to Defeat Spire Assassin in Fortnite

Spire Assassin will not start fighting with her Mythic Primal Shotgun until the player gets close to her, so it is best to fight her from distance. Her weapons are less effective if she is farther away from the player. As with the other Spire Guardians, building structures and shooting her from above is usually a good strategy, as is building walls she will need to travel through or around. She can teleport but is less likely to reach a player atop a built structure. Finding cover is also a good strategy to take a few unanswered shots at the boss.

Players should keep moving during the fight and have a few healing items on hand. Any of the new or unvaulted Fortnite weapons should be enough to defeat the Spire Assassin, though higher-tier gear is always preferable. If players can upgrade from Makeshift weapons to Primal or Mechanic, they should make a point to do so. There are also some chests and other loot near The Spire for players to grab before the fight if they plan to drop there first.

Upon defeat, the Spire Assassin drops the Spire Assassin’s Primal Shotgun, which players can use for the duration of the match to secure their Victory Royale.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android devices.
