A Character Quest requires players to ring a doorbell until it breaks in Fortnite Season 8. For the last few seasons, it has been common for Fortnite NPCs to send players out into the world to interact with the environment in unusual ways. Season 8 has introduced Character Punch Card Quests. These are missions provided by the NPCs scattered around the map that will reward players XP toward their Battle Pass. Each NPC offers five challenges, with each one becoming more difficult and awarding more XP. Finding a doorbell to ring until it breaks is required for players looking to compete Dusk’s Punch Card questline.

Dusk gives the “Vampire Combat” questline. Before players can jump into these challenges, they will need to find and talk to Dusk on the map. Fortunately, Fortnite has made it much easier to find each NPC this season. Players can head over to the Quest tab and choose ‘Dusk’ out of the line-up. The game will then place a marker on the map to indicate where players can find Dusk. She can be found wandering the mountains to the west of Lazy Lake. These are all of Dusk’s challenges.

  • Ring a doorbell until it breaks: 12k XP.
  • Damage an opponent within 30 seconds of landing: 14K XP.
  • Deal 75 pistol damage from above: 16k XP.
  • Get an elimination with a Pistol, SMG, or Shotgun in the Sideways: 18k XP.
  • Finish a downed enemy with Harvesting Tool: 20K XP.

Since ringing a doorbell until it breaks is the first challenge in Dusk’s questline, players will need to learn where to find a doorbell. Fortunately, they are extremely common on the map, located anywhere players may find traditional houses.

Where To Find A Doorbell in Fortnite Season 8

Players will be able to find Doorbells in locations like Pleasant Park, Holly Hedges, Misty Meadows, Lazy Lake, and Retail Row. Upon landing in one of these Named Locations, players can simply approach one of the houses via its front door. There will be a doorbell on most of these houses. Players can follow the button prompt to interact with it and should do so enough times that the doorbell short-circuits to complete this challenge.

The real difficulty of this challenge comes from landing in a Named Location, which always carries the risk of running into another player. The best thing to do would be to run directly to the closest house in the area. It should only take a few seconds for the doorbell to break. Once it does, players can head inside the house and loot whatever it has inside so they are equipped for any firefights they encounter upon leaving.

Fortnite is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
