Cosmetics are a large part of what makes Fortnite so enjoyable for fans, and they create a source of staying power to continuously keep players interested. Fortnite continuously leverages cosmetics to bring back players through collaborations with popular franchises and IPs. These crossovers can bring unique interest to Fortnite cosmetics and give them an edge over other games that don’t often invest in such high-profile collaborations.

The latest of these collaborations is with the Resident Evil franchise, and the two new skins being rolled out are for S.T.A.R.S agents Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. These are two of the most iconic characters from Resident Evil, and players will be able to unlock them, along with some other cosmetics that also allude to parts of the franchise.

Unlike the seasonal Battle Pass skins for Fortnite Season 8, players can’t unlock the Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield outfits by playing the game. Instead, they will need to spend V-Bucks to access these Resident Evil crossover characters. Both of the skins in the collaboration are available through the S.T.A.R.S Bundle in the Fortnite Item Shop. The outfits are not available separately, meaning players will need to purchase the whole bundle to have access to any of them.

How to Unlock the Resident Evil Skins in Fortnite

The S.T.A.R.S Fortnite Bundle costs 2,000 V-Bucks, and includes all the following cosmetics:

  • Chris Redfield Skin: Hound Wolf Squad Style
  • Jill Valentine Skin: Raccoon City Style
  • Green Herb Back Bling: Red Herb Style, Blue Herb Style
  • Saving Keystrokes Back Bling
  • Survival Loading Screen

Each of the cosmetics adds a bit of Resident Evil flair that will be familiar to fans of the series, and everything in the bundle coincides pretty well with the Halloween Horde Rush mode in Fortnite. Like in the Resident Evil games, fans will have the chance to mow down zombies as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in this mode. The only probable downside to players is the inability to purchase pieces separately.

If players purchase the S.T.A.R.S bundle and are not as big a fan of the cosmetics as they thought they would be, Fortnite‘s Return Request system makes it easy to get a refund. So, fans can take a chance on the whole bundle with the peace of mind that they have time to refund it if the novelty wears off.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
