Fortnite: How to Use Silver Surfer’s Board In A Match

Throughout FortniteSeason 4’s massive Marvel crossover, Mythic Weapons in the game have been replaced by Superpowers, all relating to the armor or powers of fan-favorite Marvel heroes and villains like Groot, Black Panther, and Storm. These Mythic Weapons are frequent drops in any of the Marvel Limited Time game Modes, but players can also find and use most of them at various locations on the map in standard mode. Sometimes, players can access them by eliminating the NPC bosses in the game, and other times, they are random drops. As the season quickly comes to a close, players who have not gotten a chance to make eliminations and fight their way to a victory royale with some of these powerful items should make plans to get their hands on one before the end of next week.

Ahead of the upcoming battle against Galactus, players might want to take more of an interest in his herald, the Silver Surfer, and his mystical board. Though he did not appear as a Battle Pass skin, players have been able to purchase the Silver Surfer skin and set from the Item Shop. Silver Surfer’s board appears as a ride-on glider in this set, but players can also pick up the Board as a Superpower, whether or not they have the skin. This Mythic Weapon will allow the player to escape combat situations in a match by propelling them into the air, where they can deploy their glider and fly away. Here’s how to get and use Silver Surfer’s board in a Fortnite Season 4 match.

Players will only be able to get the random drop of Silver Surfer’s Board from a Quinjet Patrol Site on the map. These sites will be marked with a jet symbol, but they change every match. Players can also see blue smoke billowing at each of the locations. It’s best to try and land near one of these sites to pick up a weapon and eliminate the Stark Robots in the area.

Players can choose to either eliminate the patrolling Stark Robots, or down and hack them to get them to fight on the player’s side. To hack the robot, players need to first shoot until it is down, then stand over it and press the button prompt on the screen to reprogram it. After they eliminate or hack all the Stark Robots in the area, they can turn their attention to the drones flying around. Shooting these drones results in loot drops and is the only way to get the Silver Surfer’s Board and other Mythic Weapons available this season. It may take a few tries before the player finds a drone that drops the Silver Surfer’s Board.

Players will see when a drone drops one of the Superpowers, as it looks like a giant coin stamped with a recreation of the superhero whose power it holds. Players can pick it up as they would any other loot, as long as they have the inventory space for it. Then, they can deploy it as they would any other weapon.

The Silver Surfer’s Board propels the player high into the air, allowing them to escape heavy combat or the storm and glide away to another location. It, unfortunately, does not take the shape of the Board. If the player has purchased the skin, they will be able to soar away on the board itself.

Fortnite is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a version in development for PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
