Hot on the heels of the recent World Cup, Fortnite Season 10 has been highly-anticipated by fans and the new trailer appears to suggest that it’s full steam ahead on the nostalgia train; Dusty Depot is making a reappearance thanks to some handy timey-wimey shenanigans, and it might not be the only relic of seasons past to be revitalized.

Season 9 of the popular Battle Royale game ended on a spectacular mech versus kaiju fight which set the stage for maps to come for the future season. With Loot Lake and Tomato Temple meeting an explosive end, alongside the popular Polar Peak, fans were left wondering about what Fortnite Season 10 would bring to the battlefield buffet. Now, the trailer for the upcoming season is a verifiable blast from the past that has given everyone a little bit of clarity about what to expect.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The trailer uploaded onto the official Fortnite YouTube channel for the upcoming Fortnite Season 10, also known as Season X according to a tweet from the game’s Senior PR Manager, has players traveling back in time in style. Inter-dimensional travel is just the tip of the iceberg here, as plenty of well-known figures and motifs from past maps make an appearance. There’s Peely, a ton of references from older seasons of Fortnite, and last but not least, you’re sent careening into Dusty Depot. The trailer seems to suspend you in time before the catastrophic event that actually destroyed Dusty Depot and left behind the Dusty Divot, so it looks like this beloved map is going to get to breathe another day in Season X.

Ten is a milestone number by all accounts, so it makes sense that Fortnite Season 10 is going to be a celebration of all things that fans have loved over the years: this could very well explain the appearance of legacy items and maps that the trailer hints will be present in some form or another. Dusty Divot has held a centerpiece spot on the map ever since Dusty Depot was destroyed, so it’s anyone’s guess as to what this reconstruction of the beloved location could actually me.

Is Fortnite going to introduce another calamitous event to take the map away at the end of Season X? Is it going to end up being a whole lot of nothing as players mess with the space-time continuum? Speculative theories are inconclusive at the moment, but one thing is certain: Fortnite Season 10 is going to bring some map changes in a big way, and it wouldn’t hurt at all if this fan-favorite map ended up being here to stay.
