The recent Fortnite bug that drastically reduces visibility in the storm is set to be patched with the next update, according to Epic Games. The annoying glitch was reported a few days ago by frustrated players who could no longer see anything beyond the safe area.

The recently-introduced Performance Mode for the PC version of Fortnite has given computer players an unfair and extremely weird advantage over their console opponents. With this mode on, players can see everything in the storm, while disabled Performance Mode results in a blurred purple fog, which prevents them from seeing through the storm completely. Although PC players can turn the option on and off, it is nothing but an unintended workaround to fight the glitch. Console versions of Fortnite do not have the Performance Mode at all. Epic promised to investigate the broken storm visibility, but interestingly, the team has been aware of the bug for 10 days now – and the issue is yet to be resolved.

Luckily, Fortnite players won’t have to suffer from the reduced storm visibility for too long. According to Trello, a fix for the issue is finally being worked on, and it should arrive with the next update for the battle royale game. The bug has been marked as a critical top issue on Trello by the development team, which means that it’s now a priority. The ticket’s description reads that players can hardly navigate in the storm, not being able to find a way to the safe zone. The issue was originally introduced to Fortnite with the 16.00 update, and it is set to be fixed with the upcoming 16.10 patch. There’s no solid ETA on when to expect it to land, but the update should arrive next week.

While there’re bugs in Fortnite to fix, Epic Games is constantly considering potential new pieces of content and possible crossovers. For instance, in the latest survey by the company, the game’s community was asked if players would like to see Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu as a crossover character to Fortnite. While the incredibly tall vampire was accompanied by other gaming personalities and real-life celebrities, she would obviously be the most enticing choice for a new skin in Fortnite.

It’s quite frustrating that such a critical issue has been tolerated by the development team for so long. Not only did Fortnite fans report on the bug on Reddit but also filled a dedicated ticket on Trello for Epic Games. Unfortunately, while the studio was seemingly aware of the issue for over a week, there was no rush to patch it with a much-needed hotfix. The response time is offensively slow, and despite the fact that the update is finally coming in a few days, players have the right to express their disappointment.
