Fortnite chapter 2 introduced the XP Coins. This guide will help players locate them on Fortnite Island and determine what each one accomplishes. Fortnite has grown so much beyond just being another battle royale shooter. In Fortnite, the battle pass provides objectives every week for the player to track through. In previous seasons of the game, getting a certain amount of kills with a weapon or certain amount of damage would be enough to unlock certain cosmetics. Now, there is so much to do on the island that can generate experience for grinding. These objectives provide experience points that can quickly level up the player so they can unlock new skins and other cosmetics like backpacks and axes. XP coins were introduced as another method to generate experience points and are laid out in various locations around the map. This guide will help players locate all the XP coins currently active in Fortnite chapter 2 season 2.

XP coins function very similarly to the weapons on the map, as they are scattered in various locations and each color represents how rare each XP coins are. For example, Green XP coins provide 450 XP, Blue XP coins give about 700 XP, Purple XP coins provide a small mini-game, where once they are touched, they scatter into fragments and must be collected and the Gold XP Coins give 2000 XP each but these are the rarest of them all. It is important to mention that Fortnite actually nerfed how much experience players get since the last season as many players were completing the season with all their cosmetics long before the season is over. The XP coins and the nerf are likely an answer to this to keep players returning to the game. Also, XP coins are only added once per two weeks. Players cannot claim all the XP coins in one sitting, they will need to wait until the next two weeks. There are 10 weeks in the season, meaning plenty of XP coins to collect on the island. It is also important to mention that the XP coins can only be collected once in a specific location, meaning once it’s collected, that is it for the season. Try and keep track of the ones the player has already collected so the player isn’t wasting time returning to old locations. Here are the different locations of each XP coin in Fortnite.

XP Coin Locations in Fortnite

There are currently around 50 active XP coins located around the map. The guide will break down the location-based off of quadrants they occupy. Here are the locations of every XP Coin.

  • 1B: 1 Purple XP Coin in The Shark
  • 1C: 3 Green XP Coins. Two of these located on the Northeast Island, One located towards the bottom island.
  • 1D: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the island off the coast
  • 1F: 1 Green XP Coin, located right above the beach.
  • 1G: 1 Green XP Coin, located off the edge of the beach.
  • 2A: 1 Purple XP Coin. located at the center of the island.
  • 2D: 1 Blue XP Coin, located on the Northwestern corner of the island
  • 2E: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the road at the middle bottom.
  • 2H: 1 Green XP Coin, located at the edge of Steamy Stacks
  • 3C: 1 Blue XP Coin, located at the front of the mirror
  • 3D: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the bridge above the river
  • 3E: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the side of the river closest to Pleasant Park. 1 Purple CoiN
  • 3G: 1 Green XP coin, located at the top left corner of the coordinate.
  • 3H: 1 Purple Coin, located on a large tree. 1 Green Coin located on the beach.
  • 4A: 1 Green XP Coin, located in the water to the farthest left side of the map
  • 4C: 1 Purple XP Coin, located to the left of a dirt path.
  • 4E: 1 Green XP Coin, located north of The Agency.
  • 4F: 1 Green XP Coin, located in the center of 4 colliding river streams.
  • 4G: 1 Green XP Coin, located to the left of the Dirty Docks
  • 4H: 1 Purple XP Coin  located on the Dirty Docks
  • 5A: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the beach. 1 Purple XP Coin, located on the beach
  • 5C: 1 Green XP Coin, located in the Weeping Woods
  • 5D: 1 Green XP Coin, located in the Weeping Woods
  • 5E: 1 Blue XP Coin, located in the lower center of the map.
  • 5F: 1 Green XP Coin, located below the dirty road
  • 5G: 1 Green XP Coin, located on a small island. 1 Purple XP Island, located on the top of a snowcap.
  • 5H: 1 Gold XP Coin, located in The Grotto
  • 6A: 1 Green XP Coin, located at the southwest end of the island
  • 6E: 1 Green XP Coin, located to the left of trees.
  • 7B: 1 Gold XP Coin, located in The Rig. 1 Green XP Coin, located to the right of The Rig
  • 7C: 1 Green XP Coin, located south of Slurpy Swamp.
  • 7D: 1 Blue XP Coin, located at the center of the map
  • 7E: 1 Green XP Coin, located at the center of the island.
  • 7F: 1 Purple XP Coin, located at the top left of the island.
  • 7G: 2 Green XP Coins, one located to the bottom right of Lazy Lake. The other located near the snow mountain.
  • 7H: 1 Green XP Coin, located at the far right of the map. 1 Purple XP Coin, located near the water drop.
  • 8E: 2 Green XP Coins, located towards the bottom of the map. 1 Purple Coin, located south of Misty Meadows.
  • 8F: 1 Green XP Coin, located to the right of the previous XP Coins
  • 8G: 1 Green XP Coin, located on the island off the coast.

These are the locations of every XP coin currently active in the game. Collecting each of these XP coins will provide the player with thousands of extra experience. It is recommended to play the game normally, but make sure to land where the XP coins spawn. It may take a few games to collect them all. Fortnite is a game that is constantly evolving with its player. When the game rebooted itself, it was a cultural phenomenon. More coins will be added with new challenges every week. Collect them all, and the player will reach the max level for this season in no time.
