Fortnite: Where To Forage Mushrooms (Season 8)

Discovering where to forage mushrooms can be helpful while on the battlefield in Fortnite. Mushrooms allow players to increase their shields by five points. While the game only allows players to use the small shield potions to increase their max shields to 50, Mushrooms allow players to go beyond that and get closer to max shields. Not only that, but they typically spawn next to each other in clusters, allowing players to pick up several Mushrooms in a single location. One of the new Fortnite Season 8 Character Quests requires players to forage two Mushrooms for XP.

Character Quests are a new mechanic in Fortnite Season 8. At any point, players are able to scroll through their Quests tab and see a lineup of NPCs. Each of these characters have five quests to complete. Those players looking to complete their Battle Pass and unlock the Carnage skin on the last reward page will need to complete these challenges and earn the extra XP.

The ‘Forage two Mushrooms’ quests are part of Madcap’s Character questline. Before players can access it, they will need to find Madacap’s location, which is usually to the east of Corny Crops. Players will also need to complete the first of Madcap’s Punch Card quests, which requires them to destroy a farming tractor. This can easily be done within Corny Crops so players don’t have to go too far.

Where To Forage Mushrooms in Fortnite Season 8

To forage Mushrooms in Fortnite Season 8, players will need to interact with them in nature. Collecting them inside shops or buildings will not count toward completing the challenge. Mushrooms also spawn in a variety of different locations across the island. However, there is one place where Mushrooms are almost guaranteed to spawn with every game.

Players will be able to find Mushrooms in Weeping Woods. This is the same location they appeared in the last season. They typically spawn here in large clusters. Since players only need to forage two of them, this challenge can be done within a single visit. There is no exact location in Weeping Woods to find Mushrooms, but they are fairly common in this location. As players walk around Weeping Woods, they can look for a bright blue Mushroom jutting out of the ground.

This will complete Madcap’s second quest and reward players 14k XP for their Battle Pass. All Madcap’s quests are centered around technology and nature. His next mission will require players to use the materials they find in the world to craft a new weapon. As more Character Quests will likely become available as Fortnite Season 8 progresses, players should clear Madcap’s quests early before the list becomes overwhelming.
