Drag racing requires a specific set of stats in Forza Horizon 5, and there are only a few cars that fit the bill. The many different race types in Forza Horizon 5 each demand different things from a car, and this leans into the depth and realism that the franchise is known for. It also ensures that every car in Forza Horizon 5 can have its time to shine, with different cars being useful for different types of races. For the drag strip, there are definitely some stand-outs.

Drag races are short races that consist of two cars lining up evenly, then racing in a straight line to the finish. These races are around a quarter-mile long, and the point that tends to decide the race is the launch. It’s not enough to just have Forza Horizon 5′s fastest cars, as a car without a solid launch won’t be able to climb to high-enough speeds by the time they hit the finish line. As a result, the focus is on cars that can get the best head-start on their opponent.

The two main stats that players should look for in a Forza drag car are Acceleration and Launch. These dictate how quickly a car can get up to speed, and how much control they have off the line. If a car can’t accelerate fast enough, it won’t be able to take advantage of its speed quickly enough to gap the opponent. The same goes for Launch and its relation to Acceleration, as the time that a car takes to get grip on the road will dictate how quickly it can begin to accelerate.

Best Drag Racing Cars in Forza Horizon 5

Best Unmodified Car: BMW X5 M Forza Edition

The BMW X5 has a perfect 10 in both Launch and Acceleration without any modifications. This, in addition to its impressive 8.o speed rating, makes the X5 the perfect stock car for drag racing. If players want a grab-and-go drag racer, this is the one.

Best With Mods: Koenigsegg Jesko

The Koenigsegg Jesko in Forza Horizon 5 is expensive (unless unlocked by earning 3-stars in all Baja Expedition chapters), and players will need to modify it to make it fit for the drag strip. This is because, despite its natural 10s in both Speed and Handling, it has a base Launch stat of 7.4 and an Acceleration stat of 6.9. Once fully modified, though, it can end up with perfect 10s in Speed, Handling, Launch, and almost 10 in Acceleration.

Either one of these two cars will win skilled players most drag races, even among the massive number of Forza Horizon 5 players. While the Jesko is arguably the best option, if players don’t want to shell out all of the extra credits for mods, the X5 is the much better option. While both of these cars offer incredible drag race performance, they are tough to get. So, when in doubt, players should check Launch and Acceleration stats to see if their favorite car is worth trying out. TO make more money, consider trying out some of the best cars to grab first in Forza Horizon 5 to make the credits necessary to buy better cars.
