The Forza Horizon 5 Events Lab is where players can create their own custom tracks, arcade events, and PR stunts. The Events Lab allows players to create new course blueprints and set up new events that are derivative of the original courses and courses that have been premade and loaded into Forza Horizon 5. Although players can only ever start at the same location were the original race had begun, the derivative courses utilize the routes around the starting location to create circuits or point-a to point-b races. Additionally, just like how every car in Forza Horizon 5  has its own custom designs by the community, players can download courses and events designed by the community as well.

Players can also add additional obstacles to courses, like ramps, debris, archways, and more. Although there aren’t any loop items that would force cars to drive upside down, players can manipulate ramp placement to form loops. The Events Lab also allows players to create their own custom course from scratch, and its routes are determined by where players drive to and choose to finish the race.

Before creating a custom course, players first need to progress far enough in Forza Horizon 5 to be able to complete festival activities of their choosing and not scripted campaign races. Next, head to any race icon on the map either via fast travel in Forza Horizon 5. Click “Enter Event” as if it were a normal race, but instead of participating in the race click either “solo” or “create route.” Selecting the latter option will bring players straight to the route creator starting from the location, where they can drive around, establish checkpoints, and verify that the race can be completed before sharing it with the community at large.

How To Use The Events Lab & Route Creator In Forza Horizon 5

For the former option, solo, select the “Horizon Event Lab” option. Select the car that will be test driving the route, and the Event Lab menu will provide all of the options associated with the standard track. The difference between this option and the create route option is that the Horizon Event Lab allows players to set descriptions, establish a name for the course, change the music, and access to additional settings before hopping into the route creator. It’s best to run the races first in Forza Horizon 5 before trying to change anything, however, to get a better feel for what the default course is like.

The route creator allows players to establish races up to 40 miles and create 250 checkpoints. After all settings and customizable preferences have been added, test drive the course and finish the race so the new course can be shared publicly. Additionally, while there is a limit to the number of items a course may have, players can duplicate their selected item, like an archway, to create another item without using any of the limited space available on the course. The same settings and customizable options are available PR stunts in Forza Horizon 5 as well.

Forza Horizon 5 is available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
