Forza Horizon 5: How to Unlock The DeLorean

There is no shortage of iconic vehicles in Forza Horizon 5, and no list of film-inspired cars would be complete without Back to the Future‘s famous DeLorean. While the DeLorean was never known for being a great car when it was made, the Back to the Future franchise brought the unique-looking vehicle into the spotlight and gave it a cult following to this day. For that reason, the DeLorean joins Easter egg vehicles like the Halo Warthog in Forza Horizon 5.

While the DeLorean wasn’t exactly known for its terrific driving experience in real life, players can tune the car to make it a respectable racing car for its class. Stock, the car isn’t all that impressive, but there are plenty of modifications available. This has gotten many players excited about unlocking the car for themselves, and getting to relive some of the nostalgia of watching the Back to the Future movies for the first time.

There are three different ways that players can unlock the DeLorean. They can earn it through Forza Horizon 5 Super Wheelspins and Wheelspins, unlock it through the Summer Wet Season challenges, or buy it off of the auction house from other players who have already unlocked the car. There was a Forza Horizon 5 DeLorean glitch that allowed players to exploit a flaw in the menu to purchase the DeLorean for the low price of 15,000 credits, but this has since been patched.

How to Unlock the DeLorean in Forza Horizon 5

Super Wheelspins and Wheelspins

Wheelspins can be obtained in a number of ways in Forza Horizon 5. Players get a new Wheelspin every time they level up, they are given as rewards for completing certain objectives, and they can even be purchased with Car Mastery points on most vehicles. Each Wheelspin has only a small chance of getting players any one individual car, though, so this isn’t the quickest way of obtaining the DeLorean unless players get pretty lucky.

Summer Wet Season Rewards

Players can look at the Season tab of their Main Menu to see the challenges that they must complete in order to receive any of the rewards that the season offers. The DeLorean can be unlocked through some of these season challenges, but it can take some time to complete. This is a decent way to target the specific car but still isn’t the most time-efficient.

Auction House

The Auction House has become the best way to grab the DeLorean in Forza Horizon 5, since the low-price purchasing glitch for the car has been patched. The silver lining, though, is that many players had already taken advantage of this glitch, and still have the DeLorean in their possession, which has driven down its price quite a bit. Players can easily land a buyout price of 80,000-90,000 credits, or try their luck at bidding on the car which typically starts at 10,000.
