The upcoming Forza Horizon 5 includes Easters eggs referencing classic games including DOOMBanjo-Kazooie, and more. The racing simulator is due to launch later this November, and has already been a hit with critics and reviewers, with Forza Horizon 5 now the highest-rated all-new console game of 2021.

Forza Horizon 5 is set to be one of the biggest games of the year, offering both fast-action, competitive races and relaxing driving simulation experiences. The fifth game in the series will whisk players off to Mexico, which has been recreated in stunning detail to provide as realistic a game as possible. Forza Horizon 4 may be one of the most visually impressive racing simulators of the previous console generation, but early reviews suggest Forza Horizon 5 has improved on its predecessor in every way possible. Fans will be able to try out the new Forza when it launches on November 9, the same day it comes to Xbox Game Pass.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As discovered by VGC, Forza Horizon 5 includes a number of Easter eggs referencing other big video games. While reviewing the game, VGC discovered that different unlockable car horn sounds pay homage to releases such as Halo, Sea of Thieves, Ori and the Blind Forest, and more. Players will be treated to Banjo-Kazooie‘s Spiral Mountain theme, and can also enjoy music from the original DOOM‘s first level, all thanks to Forza Horizon 5‘s car horns.

The gaming Easter eggs might not be the only ones hiding inside the vast world of Forza Horizon 5. The game’s map is 1.5x the size of Forza Horizon 4‘s already large open-world, meaning there are likely plenty of secrets still left to discover. When not taking part in races, fans will be able to explore the open-world at their own pace, enjoying returning features from Forza Horizon 4, discovering hidden cars, completing tricks, and performing stunts as they find out what Mexico has to offer. With tropical coastlines, deserts, and swamps, there are bound to be lots of Easter eggs waiting to be uncovered.

While most players will have to wait until November 9 to get their hands on Forza Horizon 5, those who have purchased the Premium Edition or Premium Add-ons Bundle on Xbox or PC will get a head-start when it comes to exploring and mastering the game thanks to a few days of early access. Forza Horizon 5’s early access unlocks on November 5 at 12:01 a.m local time. Players waiting for the full November 9 release day can at least pre-load Forza Horizon 5 via Xbox Game Pass.
