As one of the most beloved and successful sitcoms of all time, Frasier is well-known for the strength of its core cast of leads. The series doesn’t have a single bad main character, which is rare for sitcoms with much larger casts. But the compact size of Frasier‘s main cast makes for a perfectly balanced comedy group.

But that small list of leads isn’t the only cast the series has. In addition to its five main characters, there are many other supporting players who appear regularly across all 11 seasons of the series. Some of them, whether for better or worse, appear much more than others.

10 Noel Shempsky – 21 Episodes

Perhaps the most surprising inclusion among the list of most frequently utilized characters in Frasier is none other than the lovable loser Noel Shempsky (Patrick Kerr). The proud Trekkie appears in 21 episodes, with appearances in 10 out of the 11 seasons across the show’s run.

Beyond his love of all things Star Trek, Noel is perhaps best remembered for his borderline obsession with Roz, which leads to him being one of Frasier‘s most polarizing supporting characters. But Noel still has many lovable moments, which explains why he appears so consistently.

9 Gil Chesterton – 28 Episodes

Frasier Crane might be incredibly arrogant, sophisticated, and pompous, but if there’s anyone in the series who could outdo him in all three categories, it would have to be the sublimely snotty Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert).

As the ever elitist host of KACL’s Restaurant Beat radio program, Gil appears in 28 episodes of Frasier as, fittingly, one of Frasier’s greatest nemeses – which is saying something, because Frasier has many of them. But Gil is by far the most successful and most frequently featured of them all.

8 Kenny Daly – 42 Episodes

Kenny Daly (Tom McGowan) is one of the most lovable characters in Frasier, even though he is far from the smartest in the series. Sometimes, it’s even hard to understand how Kenny got the job, but that doesn’t make him any less enjoyable.

As the manager at KACL, Kenny is a recurring presence in the series from seasons 5 to 11, appearing for a total of 42 episodes during his time on Frasier. Kenny is most often used as a contrasting presence for Frasier, as their ideologies couldn’t be more different from one another’s.

7 Bulldog Briscoe – 53 Episodes

One of the most aggravating characters in the series is the always overbearing and often chauvinist Bulldog Briscoe (Dan Butler). Of all of the employees at the radio station KACL, besides Roz and Frasier, Bulldog is the one to appear the most in the series, showing up in 53 out of 263 episodes of Frasier.

Bulldog doesn’t undergo much in terms of development across the series, even though he has a few moments of surprising vulnerability. But all in all, Bulldog is a reliably consistent character, which makes sense as to why he is the most featured radio host.

6 Eddie – 192 Episodes

Even though he isn’t a human member of the Frasier cast, Eddie is still an incredibly important character within the extended Frasier universe. As Martin’s beloved pet and best friend, Eddie becomes as much a part of the Crane family as Martin’s own sons.

Across the series, Eddie was portrayed by two different dogs: Moose, from seasons 1 to 7, and Enzo, Moose’s son, from seasons 8 to 11. With both portrayals of the pup taken into consideration, Eddie reportedly appears in 192 of Frasier‘s 263 episodes.

5 Daphne Moon – 257 Episodes

While Frasier has an incredibly strong core cast, Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves) is undoubtedly one of the series’ most enduring characters due to her extremely quirky personality and bizarre sense of humor. But even though Daphne is an integral member of the series’ main cast, she does not appear in every single episode.

In fact, Daphne appears in only 257 out of Frasier‘s total of 263 episodes. Jane Leeves missed multiple episodes during season eight as a result of her maternity leave, which unfortunately led to one of Frasier‘s worst storylines for Daphne.

4 Roz Doyle – 261 Episodes

Although many viewers do think of Daphne as Frasier‘s female lead, due to her romance with Niles, it may come as a surprise to some that Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin) actually appears in more episodes. Out of the 263 episodes in Frasier‘s 11 seasons, Roz is credited as appearing in 261 of them.

Even more interesting, the only episodes in which Roz does not appear are part of the final season, the episodes “The Babysitter” and “A Man, A Plan, A Gal: Julia.” There are no clear reasons for Roz’s or Gilpin’s absences in these episodes, but thankfully, Roz and her many hilarious quotes are a constant presence in the series otherwise.

3 Martin Crane – 263 Episodes

While characters like Roz and Daphne are undeniably major parts of the series, Frasier is, at its core, a show about the three Crane men and their changing family dynamics. It’s not a surprise, then, that the three characters who are tied for most appearances in the series are the three Crane men.

Alongside his sons, patriarch Martin Crane (John Mahoney) appears in all 263 episodes of Frasier‘s 11-season run. Even though he appears in each episode, Martin is relatively set in his ways throughout the series, but his relationship with his sons does improve considerably.

2 Niles Crane – 263 Episodes

While the debate of whether Niles or Frasier is a better brother is one for the ages, there’s no room to debate the fact that Niles appears in just as many episodes as Frasier does. Niles Crane (David Hyde Pierce) appears in all 263 episodes of the series, serving as Frasier‘s co-protagonist even though his name isn’t in the series’ title.

Although he maintains his eccentricities and unique tastes, Niles does undergo many changes across these 263 episodes, including multiple marriages, changes to his health, different living situations, and much more.

1 Frasier Crane – 263 Episodes

It should surprise no loyal viewer, given that Frasier exists as a spinoff series only because of his character’s popularity on Cheers, but Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) does in fact appear in every single episode of Frasier‘s 11 seasons.

When Frasier the series begins, Frasier the man is at a relatively low point in his life, following his divorce, moving away from his son, and facing a much different life than he expected for himself. But after 263 episodes of misadventures in romance, having his arrogance humbled time and again, and reconnecting with the family he had been so distant from, Frasier ends the series in a much better place than he began it.
