Rebecca Donaldson is a smiling, savvy enigma. She is a family-focused woman with a solid career and a positive outlook on life. Becky is always ready to help out her nieces, and she makes a great mom.

Upon joining the ranks of Full House (1987-1995), Becky made a name for herself as a smart and independent person with eyes for her suitor, Uncle Jesse. Becky adds so much to the series, and fans wouldn’t have it any other way, but there are still some things about the character that don’t make sense.

10 Her Schedule

Becky clearly works in the mornings as co-host of Wake Up, San Francisco. The show keeps this pretty consistent throughout Becky’s seven seasons. Still, Becky is home an awful lot for someone with such a respectable news career.

It would seem that she would need to attend some meetings or conferences for her job. Even though she has occasional nighttime events or travel opportunities, Becky gets to be home with the family and her twin boys a lot.

9 Her Diet

Lori Loughlin is a natural beauty, and Rebecca Donaldson is a knockout from the moment she appears in season two. It makes sense that diet and exercise would be important to Becky. She is seen in the 90s versions of “athleisure” (the best kind) and is captured snacking on raw carrots. It’s great that Becky wants to be healthy and slim, but where does she put all those hearty family meals around the dinner table? Does she just take small portions? Avoid the mac-n-cheese?

8 Her Goals

There is a gap of about thirty years between the end of Full House and the beginning of Fuller House. Becky and Jesse are busy raising Nicky and Alex during that time. Danny and Becky have also advanced in their talk show careers, going from Wake Up, San Francisco to Wake Up, USA. Fans might wonder if Becky has always wanted to make it big in daytime. Maybe she had other goals that just never came to light.

7 Her Hobbies

As a busy working mom, Becky does not have a ton of time on her hands for hobbies. Besides her career, her family, and her workouts, it is hard to identify anything that the young aunt does for fun. She listens to Jesse’s music, but she gets a storyline about how she can’t sing. She pitches in with cooking and housekeeping, but it isn’t her passion. Becky is never seen doing cross-stitch or reading ’90s romance novels, so viewers have no clue what her hobbies are.

6 Her Private Life

Becky becomes an aunt to DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle in a matter of just two seasons. Right after she marries Jesse, she becomes a mother. Sitcoms aren’t exactly expected to give the dirt on every character, but it would be fun to know more about Aunt Becky behind the scenes. She and Jesse can’t keep their hands off each other, and that’s about as juicy as Becky’s life gets.

5 Her Career

Forgetting Becky’s career trajectory in Fuller House, fans might be puzzled by her initial foray into television. She has previously worked on AM Omaha, and Wake Up, San Francisco is a good fit for her. The strange thing is, Danny’s life seems to revolve more around the workplace world than Becky’s–and they have the same job. From day one, Danny is fixated on what is going on “at the station.” Becky is great at her work, but her career is sometimes less of a focus than that of her male co-host.

4 Her Parenting Style

Becky and Jesse are like any new parents; some things can only be learned by trial and error. They love their sons so much and want to give each of them the best life, but they have difficulty setting hard and fast rules. This is certainly forgivable, but one would think Jesse and Becky might have learned more from observing the Danny Tanner parenting style all those years (not that he is perfect, either).

3 Her Love Life

Jesse has all of season one on Full House to fool around with other women. He lands with Becky after years of wild living. Becky, on the other hand, gets stuck with Jesse soon after she moves out to San Francisco. As a result, fans don’t know much about her previous boyfriends.

She gives DJ little details here and there about school crushes, but nothing major. No one will ever know if there was a “one that got away” for Rebecca.

2 Her Family

Becky’s mom and dad make one and only one appearance on the sitcom. In all fairness, Jesse’s parents fade into the background after the wedding episode. However, it would be nice to get a little more context for Becky’s journey to California. Fans gather that Becky’s parents are strict and uptight, that her dad dislikes Jesse, and that Becky has a sister and a nephew. Oh, and no one could forget that ambiguous Aunt Ida. It would have been special to learn more about Becky’s roots.

1 Her Background

Throughout the course of the series, fans gain a fair understanding of other characters’ pasts and backgrounds. Much can be learned from flashbacks of Danny, Jesse, and Joey. Becky is never given the same plot device, so her upbringing, college years, and pre-San Francisco career just aren’t covered much. She is a Nebraska native with intellect and experience, and fans can daydream about the more hidden parts of Becky’s history.
